• *We are hiring for both experienced and recent grad positions for this growing machine design and manufacturing operation Position #1 MECHANICAL ENGINEER (Machine Design) This position encompasses all facets of mechanical design engineering—including structural design of machine cells, stations, components, mechanisms, and tooling. In addition, the Mechanical Design Engineer will select component materials, specify purchased hardware requirements and collaborate with Controls Engineers to select electrical and pneumatic components. Provides machine, mechanism and tooling design along with drawing creation while under minimal technical supervision. This position works with the Project Engineer and design department to complete designs or participate in design teams. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Education: College accreditation with emphasis in engineering or equivalent experience, preferably from within a manufacturing firm—bachelor’s degree with concentration in mechanical engineering strongly preferred. Experience: machine design and/or engineering experience—experience within the special machine industry preferred. Additional skills: • Competent in the use and manipulation of 3D design software in a collaborative environment using top down design structure—SolidWorks design platform and Enterprise Product Data Management file platform preferred • Experienced in drawing creation for assemblies and details to include all dimensions, tolerances, and documentation to allow the manufacture and assembly of designs that meet specified requirements • Motivated to initiate and implement tasks, strategies and techniques in a goal oriented manner to increase productivity and profitability • Technically creative with an understanding of mechanical functions to provide solutions in a robust and economical manner • Capable of evaluating quotations, specifications, and documentation to discern functional requirements, identify missing information, and define tasks for mechanical designs • Organized and flexible in work functions allowing for dedicated, multitasking, and task interrupted duties • Analytical and decisive to define, evaluate and solve problems in an organized process • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with competency in computer and Microsoft Office products • Ability to collaborate in team environments while maintaining individual duties effectively • Committed to integrity, ethical, and economical practices PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES The principal duties will include, but not be limited to: · Preparing drawing packages for manufacture and assembly - ensuring complete and accurate with project documentation that meets all customer drawing requirements as well as proper drafting standards · Using SolidWorks and various other software packages to develop equipment, machine, mechanism or tooling designs that meet customer specifications and the company quote. · Knowledgeable in standards, processes and best practices and able to use them to complete duties. · Working closely with Project Managers, Controls Engineers, Applications Engineers, the manufacturing team, and customers to develop systems and develop systems and complete projects. · Sharing with department staff the design methodologies, productivity tools, standards, processes, and legacy information for increased knowledge and experience within the department. · Identifying and attending outside training sessions consistent with company goals and areas of expertise to ensure continuing education and technical skill advancement. · Mentoring less experienced design staff and assisting in the development of concepts and design methodologies for projects. · Communicate design requirements to junior team members, answer questions and monitor work to support further development of the design · Understanding design team members’ skill level when assigning design tasks to junior team members ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Position # 2 Mechanical Applications Engineer SUMMARY: The Applications Engineer is a technical authority to the organization on one or more of the Company’s product lines. Individuals in this position must have in depth knowledge of product application, product design, and industry standards. Applications Engineers are primarily focused on sales activity evaluating new opportunities to determine the Company’s ability to manufacture products that meet customer requirements. Once that determination has been made, they specify and quote standard product or prepare cost estimates for non-standard product. After the sale, the Applications Engineers supports engineers and production personnel in the design, build, testing, and installation of finished products ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Provide technical support to the entire organization for one or more Company product lines · Review opportunities (RFQ’s) and specify company product to meet customer applications · Interact with customers while developing product solutions and closing new business · Prepare cost estimates for non-standard products · Prepare, send, and follow-up on quotations as assigned · All other duties as assigned.
