Mechanical Designer Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Mechanical Designer will support our engineering team. The ideal candidate should have mid-level experience, relevant industry expertise, and strong communication skills. Key Responsibilities: • Design and layout skid-based equipment including pumps, motors, pressure vessels, manifolds, filters, piping, valves, electric controls, and system enclosures. • Model equipment in CAD based on specifications, drawings, and customer submittals. Prepare detailed and production-quality specifications and CAD drawings. • Promote design standards, manufacturing-friendly designs, and cost-effective criteria in all designs. • Specify construction standards for major components such as structural skid bases and enclosures. • Collaborate with outside vendors, professional engineers, and contractors as needed. • Develop and maintain knowledge of various system layouts and configurations, while promoting product standardization through re-use of legacy designs. • Monitor progress against schedules and maintain personal timelines. • Communicate openly and build trusting relationships within the team. • Uphold Company core values: positive attitude, adaptability, accountability, and self-motivation. Requirements: • Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field. • Proficient with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks; experience with AutoCAD 2D is a plus. • Experience designing custom-engineered products, particularly related to water pumping stations for golf, landscaping, and agricultural irrigation systems, or similar technologies. • Knowledgeable in fluid hydraulics, including water pumps, valves, flow meters, pressure gauges, and filters. • Ability to design custom-engineered products, including sizing and selecting pump-motor combinations, piping, filtration, valves, and fasteners, to meet system performance requirements. • Skilled in translating technical specifications from Applications Engineering into CAD-based layouts and full bills of materials for in-house fabrication and assembly. • Familiarity with industrial control systems and wiring practices, including motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and data communications, is a plus. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to lead project meetings, present to small groups, and assist with customer communications.
