Mechanical Engineer - Facilities Design

Job Description We are looking for a 5+ year EIT or PE Mechanical Engineer to do facilities design for a rapidly growing design group in NW Ohio. This person will mainly be using Revit and TRANE/TRACE software. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience doing facilities design. • Can be remote if you have your PE License and industrial facility design, otherwise will be hybrid.* Responsibilities Include • Perform facilities design tasks, allocating 35% of work time. • Engage in drafting activities, dedicating 25% of work time. • Conduct plan and code reviews, comprising 40% of work time. • Manage projects and meetings, accounting for 10% of work time. • Participate in additional tasks as required, making up 15% of work time. Must Have - BS in Mechanical Engineering - 5+ years of facilities design (required)- Specifically for Industrial and manufacturing facilities - TRANE/TRACE experience - PE license (strongly desired) Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sidney, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $57.69/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Mechanical Designer

JOB SUMMARY (the purpose and general nature of the job): The Mechanical Designer’s primary function is to provide complete engineering packages required to manufacture and assemble automated machinery, die sets and related press equipment. Accuracy, flexibility, and efficiency are extremely important. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: • The individual must possess strong communication skills, efficient work habits and be self-motivated to succeed in an environment where engineering cost and schedules must be minimized for the company to be successful. • Design of automated machinery and/or tooling. • Produce complete assembly and detail drawings. • Review/Check engineering work for completeness and accuracy. • Communicate effectively with supervisors and peers. • Maintain project related documents, records, and files. • Represent the company to customers and suppliers as needed to define/review projects, solve problems, and provide technical expertise. • Provide technical assistance to Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Manufacturing, QA and Assembly as needed. • Construct Bills of Material (BOMs) through ERP and/or PDM systems. • Input and release of engineered components and assemblies to purchasing/planning via ERP software. • Perform drawing/document revisions and/or Engineering Change Requests (ECR). • Assist in creation and updates of machine manuals. KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: • Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and 1-5 years relevant experience in machine design, metal forming, tool & die design, etc. • Experienced in the practical application of engineering principles, procedures, materials, and equipment. • 2D and 3D CAD proficiency (preferably Autocad and Solidworks). • Proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel, PDM and ERP systems. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS: • Deductive Reasoning and critical thinking skills are required. • Attention to detail – job requires focus, accuracy, and thoroughness. • Leadership – job requires the ability to motivate, help and correct subordinates. • Initiative – job requires a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges. • Analytical Thinking – Job requires analyzing information and using logic to address work related issues and problems. • Innovation – job requires creativity and alternative thinking to develop new ideas and find solutions to problems. • Adaptability – job requires being open to change and variety. • Stress Tolerance – job requires accepting criticism and calmly resolving high-stress situations. • Work Schedule generally consists of 45-50 hours per week, which may include on-call status and weekends.
