Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for: • Supporting the operations and maintenance of the Las Vegas Monorail system • Conducting routine testing of equipment • Performing corrective and preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs and adjustments to all systems, subsystems and components of an electronic, and mechanical nature • Repairing or replacing defective parts, equipment utilizing manuals, drawings, specs and other written or verbal instructions • Responding to system failures – recover transit vehicles and restore system operations Qualifications: Must be able to work weekends, evenings, holidays and overtime as needed. 2 years of experience in electrical/mechanical or technical training. Mechanical Engineer (Temporary)

Specific Job Functions: • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment ranging from heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment, fan coils, chillers, pumps, boilers, cooling towers and energy management systems (EMS). • Adjust and maintain internal temperatures. • Complete water treatment tests of closed-loop and open-loop systems. • Change filters on equipment including heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment, fan coils, chillers, pumps, boilers, cooling towers and energy management systems (EMS). • Drive and operate company vehicles. • Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department. • Qualifications: • At least five years’ Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) experience required. • A minimum of five years’ experience with controls, line voltage, boilers, chillers, pumps, plumbing, water softeners and water testing of closed and open loop systems required. • Ability to operate an Energy Management Systems (EMS) a must. • Must have a Class-2 Refrigerant License. • Possess the ability to read control and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) blueprints preferred. • Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Nevada Driver’s License. • Professional appearance and demeanor a must.
