Your Role: As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead Science & Technology (S&T) projects, as well as initiatives in commercial, education, government, and hospitality sectors. Your expertise in sustainable mechanical system design will shape high-performance buildings and facilities, ensuring compliance with codes and client expectations. As Engineer of Record, you will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and drive quality assurance in every phase of the project. • Lead and manage a portfolio of Science & Technology (S&T) projects, from early concept through construction completion. • Design and plan sustainable mechanical systems for lab facilities, commercial buildings, and institutional projects. • Act as Engineer of Record, ensuring compliance with building codes, client expectations, and project specifications. • Provide technical expertise and communication on MEP-related topics with clients and stakeholders. • Oversee budgeting, scheduling, and staff management for assigned projects. • Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering professional development and technical excellence. • Utilize advanced HVAC design principles to optimize building performance and sustainability. • Work closely with architects, contractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. Qualifications: • 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and HVAC system design. • Extensive experience in Science & Technology (S&T) sector projects, including lab design. • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. • Professional Engineering (PE) license required. • Experience working in the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. • Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, Trane Trace, IES, and MS Office for complex calculations and designs. • Strong knowledge of Building and Mechanical Codes and Standards. • LEED AP BD+C accreditation and WELL Certification preferred. Work Environment & Location: This position offers a hybrid-remote work environment, requiring candidates to be located in San Diego or surrounding areas, and eligible to work in the U.S. On-site project meetings may be required to facilitate collaboration and project execution.
