The Engineering Group Lead will be responsible for managing a team of Design Engineers working to design innovative, industry-leading products with superior quality and manufacturability in mind. Primary Duties • Lead and manage a group of engineers, ensuring alignment with team goals and company objectives. • Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development for team members. • Perform regular performance evaluations, set clear expectations, and provide feedback to help engineers grow in their roles. • Ensure completeness and accuracy of all CAD work (your own as well as team members) and maintain well organized records; utilize 3D modeling software to produce new 3D models and drawings, and drawings or revised designs. • Work closely with test engineers to create appropriate test and validation plans for your and your team’s designs. • Apply concurrent engineering techniques on all projects, and work and communicate closely with all team members from your group, other groups, and various other departments. Qualifications • Thorough knowledge of Solid Works, FEA, GD&T and Microsoft office products. • Strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills. • Basic knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems. • Understanding of manufacturing capabilities; i.e. machining, casting, molding, and electronics assembly. Education / Experience • 5+ years of Engineering experience, design or manufacturing preferred. • Experience in managing a cross-functional team supporting design, quality, and manufacturing preferred.
