About the Role: Join our team as a Mechanical Systems Engineer specializing in the mechanical cooling infrastructure of cutting-edge data centers. What You'll Do: • Lead technical initiatives for hyperscale data center clients, collaborating closely with Planning, Operations, Execution, and Construction teams to evolve new mechanical infrastructure systems. • Engage directly with clients to define project components, including scope of work, resource requirements, cost estimates, project schedules, quality control measures, and risk assessments. • Conduct thorough thermal analyses utilizing computational fluid dynamics and hydraulic modeling tools to evaluate proposed technologies. • Drive innovation by integrating new technologies in partnership with Engineering and Operations teams during their development phases. • Create bespoke data center cooling solutions, guiding them through all stages from conception to testing, construction, and operational implementation. • Generate comprehensive documentation such as statements of work, engineering analyses, design specifications, budgets, cost estimates, and commissioning plans. • Collaborate with partner teams to enhance existing systems and develop future products aligned with market demands. • Employ your advanced knowledge to explore and establish superior methodologies for achieving departmental objectives. • Demonstrate deep expertise in your field while cultivating knowledge across related disciplines within the organization. • Mentor others to deepen their functional understanding and expertise. • Exemplify company values, anticipating objections and persuading diverse interests towards collaborative solutions. • Contribute to cross-functional team objectives related to customer service and operational excellence, shaping policies and procedures accordingly. • Participate in the creation of new products, services, and operational standards in line with functional goals. • Effectively communicate complex ideas and influence stakeholders across levels. What You'll Need: • A Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience; a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable, including at least 3 years of experience in mission-critical facility mechanical systems. • Experience in designing, commissioning, and constructing large-scale cooling, heating, and power generation systems. • Proficient in thermal analysis and data center cooling infrastructures, including hydronic and energy calculations. • An innovative mindset focused on developing methods that surpass existing standards. • Adept at solving complex problems through both conventional and creative solutions with significant impact on the organization. • Proficiency in 6Sigma, AFT Fathom, Python, and Google Sheets. • Preferred experience with SQL, C++, and Pipe Stress Analysis. • Outstanding organizational capabilities coupled with a curious and analytical approach.
