Hiring Agency Finance & Administration Cabinet | Dept for Facilities and Support Srvs Location 701 Holmes Street Frankfort, KY 40601 USA Description Do you like working behind the scenes while keeping a large facility running? The Office of Building and Mechanical Services provides mechanical, building, and grounds maintenance and electronic security to state- owned facilities across the Commonwealth. The Office consists of two divisions, the Division of Building Services and the Division of Mechanical Services. The Division of Mechanical Services is comprised of professional engineers, HVAC technicians, electricians, plumbers, boiler/chiller technicians, electronic security technicians, and mechanics. We are looking for a knowledgeable experienced Technician who likes working with people and thrives in a challenging dynamic environment. The main function of this position is to perform the preventative maintenance, repair, operation, installation and replacement of the boilers, chiller, HVAC, electrical and plumbing for TCUP, KHEAA, KSOB, and KSOB Annex. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Assigns, supervises, performs and /or assists in the repair, replacement, service and maintenance of HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment in assigned buildings. • Keeps records of time and materials used. Keep track of inventory and purchases. Keep records of the equipment’s maintenance and operational history. • Performs and/or assists in the general maintenance such as keeping the equipment and mechanical areas where you work clean and safe. • Advises, instructs, and trains co-workers working in a lower capacity and assisting you in performance or your duties. • Assists engineers, contactors or other entities as needed to complete special projects. Computer skills and knowledge of different computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel are preferred. Knowledge of Automated Logic and FM Works (work order system) is a plus. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of experience in the maintenance or repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, or electrical systems.
