Perform routine and emergency maintenance activities on equipment and facilities to ensure proper functioning and safety. Conduct regular inspections and troubleshoot any mechanical issues that arise. Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment. Collaborate with other team members and departments to identify and address maintenance needs. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and report any issues or concerns to supervisors. Maintenance Mechanic - 1st Shift

Maintenance Tech l - ll 1st shift $25.00-$34.80 MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Follow all safety policies and procedures as specified in the company handbook as well as safety processes as established by supervisors and managers. To include the following: • Follow lockout/tagout procedures when working on any equipment/machinery with a power source (electrical, hydraulic or tension). • Ensure all forms are filled out properly and all environmental readings are completed prior to entering Confined Space. • Ensure all maintenance personnel are following safety procedures. • Train maintenance personnel in proper safety procedures. • Inform Maintenance Manager/Supervisor of all safety issues immediately. • Check facility weekly for electrical and safety hazards. • Check all equipment for missing electrical covers, frayed cords or other electrical issues and repair immediately. • Check all equipment for missing guards, covers, open panels, etc. and repair immediately. • Repair and maintain machinery and equipment as directed by Management. • Repair equipment and machinery at the time of breakdown to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. • Perform PM on equipment and machinery (greasing, lubing, tightening belts and chains, replacing sprockets and other minor adjustment) to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. • Perform electrical troubleshooting and installation of equipment and machinery as needed. • Clean work areas of all tools, parts, materials, and products from job site immediately upon project completion and place in proper storage area. • Clean all man baskets of all product and materials after use. • Remove all product from floor and storage basket and dispose of properly. • Remove all tools, parts and other materials from floor and storage basket and place in proper storage areas. • Conduct regular inspection of equipment for wear and for conformance to specifications and complete request for Maintenance Work Orders. • Perform all duties in accordance with Quality and GMP (good manufacturing practices) established company policies and procedures. • Support and participate in ERP, Continuous Improvement Teams and Lean initiatives. • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned. Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license preferred. • Experience in maintenance support, including welding and understanding of maintenance related processes and procedures. • Strong mechanical, electrical and troubleshooting skills. • Pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, pumps, and gearbox repairs experience. Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand for periods of time at workstation, climb stairs, and reach with hands and arms. POSITION SUMMARY: The Controls Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automated control systems used in production and facility operations. Experience troubleshooting safety relays and STO on VFDs. • Knowledge of how PLCs and logic work. Experience troubleshooting inputs, outputs, and analog signals to PLC. • Knowledge on industrial networks. Ability to terminate network cables and able to test and troubleshoot. • Equipment Calibration-Valves, pressure, flow, temperature transmitters, digital/analog controls, servos, thermocouple, flow, level controls strain gauges, load cells, test equipment. • Adhere to NEC and local codes. • Proof of Arc-Flash PPE training preferred. • Should bring at least 2+ years of experience working in an Industrial Maintenance Department. • Associate degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or related field. • Possess a comprehensive understanding of advanced principles in mechanical, electrical, and control systems, along with the practical ability to effectively demonstrate these concepts to the maintenance leadership team. This includes not only theoretical knowledge but also hands-on experience in applying these principles to real-world scenarios, ensuring clarity, and enhancing the team's operational capabilities. • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and computerized maintenance software. POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Required to complete all assigned tasks by due dates and report to management when these are not completed, along with reasons and timeline for follow-up to be completed. • Ability to effectively communicate with all plant personnel and provide training when needed to elevate their personal understanding of equipment and/or processes. • Fluent in Spanish and/or English preferred but not required. • Ability to lift 100 lbs. and 50 lbs. repeatedly. • Ability to work with outside resources (vendors) as needed. • Ability to work indoors/outdoors in extreme temperatures (hot/cold) as required by the company. • Be able to confidently explain the current condition of assets and communicate needs to nontechnical employees. • Participate in annual production training to ensure compliance with Nichols Farms standards and SOPs. • Work with department leadership to understand and complete all tasks assigned, even outside of the direct job description.
