Plant Dimensional Engineer

Faraday Future is seeking a Plant Dimensional Engineer in Hanford, CA, responsible for ensuring dimensional compliance in vehicle manufacturing. Key duties include resolving non-conformances, coordinating corrective actions, and collaborating with internal teams and suppliers. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, proficiency in CATIA, and 5 years of automotive dimensional engineering experience. Your Role: The Plant Dimensional Engineer is responsible for overseeing and ensuring dimensional compliance across various stages of vehicle manufacturing, including Body in White (BIW), General Assembly (GA), and Finish Vehicle assembly. This role involves investigating and resolving dimensional non-conformances, coordinating corrective actions, maintaining communication with internal teams and suppliers, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. • Strong knowledge on CATIA to identify major dimensional non-conformances aligned with BIW Requirements and Finish Vehicle Build Book Requirement compliance. • Lead or support the investigation of dimensional non-conformance issues, identify root causes, and document findings in JIRA Root Cause with corrective action plans, assigned responsibilities, and timelines. • Report daily to the Lead Launch Manager/Engineer and attend daily launch Line-up and Issue review meetings. • Coordinate scheduled follow-ups for defined corrective actions to confirm implementation is on schedule. • Collaborate with Supplier Quality, Engineering, and Plant Quality to interface with suppliers for part or assembly dimensional information. • Analyze manufactured data between Body Shop, General Assembly, and EOL for dimensional Root Cause assessment. • Understand Platform, Bodyside Inner/Outer, D Ring, Subassemblies dimensional status, and critical non-conformances aligned with BIW glidepath. • Confirm BIW and subassembly measurement plans, frequency checks, and data reporting distribution. • Confirm measurement applications such as CMM’s, Leica Tracker, Calipri, Checking Fixtures, Handheld Measurement devices, Finish Vehicle measurement tool set, etc. • Coordinate top 5-dimensional issues with Launch Manager/Engineer and escalate issues or problems not meeting corrective action plan/schedule. Preferred Qualifications: • 5 years of experience in dimensional engineering within the automotive industry. • Proficient in CATIA and Plant data reporting systems. • Strong understanding of dimensional measurement tools and techniques, including CMM’s, trackers, calipers, and handheld devices. • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal teams and suppliers. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Detail-oriented and highly organized with a focus on quality and precision.
