We are seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join our multidisciplinary engineering team as Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer to support Umbra's Mission Solutions business unit. This is a unique role, providing you with both ownership and oversight of new and innovative spacecraft products to support a variety of Mission Solutions customer mission sets. Our ideal candidate will effortlessly blend traditional spacecraft design principles with the nimbleness of commercial methodologies to achieve innovative capabilities and outstanding results. You will play a key role in developing next-generation space systems and mechanisms. The ideal candidate is passionate about designing, prototyping, building, and testing hardware using first principles engineering, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Our aim is to hire this position to work in Umbra's Arlington, VA, or Santa Barbara, CA office. Key Responsibilities • Design, build and test spacecraft hardware and mechanisms, including:  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and refine requirements. • Developing initial design concepts and physical prototypes. • Working closely with other engineers across the company to optimize designs for performance and manufacturability. • Creating detailed design documentation, including drawings, design guides, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs). • Developing and executing work instructions, test plans, and test reports. • Partnering with technicians and manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues. • Support early design efforts for Mission Solutions pursuits and captures. • Providing mechanical engineering support to other engineering teams as needed. • Performing other duties as required. Requirements Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Physics, or a related field. • 3+ years of professional experience in spacecraft mechanical engineering. • Strong multidisciplinary understanding of mechanisms and mechanical systems. • Hands-on experience in manufacturing and assembling parts using various methods and standards. • Proficiency in CAD software, with experience in design and drafting to ASME Y14.5 standards. • Expertise in first principles analysis, including hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently research, diagnose, and clearly explain technical challenges and solutions. • Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced development environment. Desired Qualifications • 5+ years of professional experience in aerospace, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering. • Experience designing spacecraft deployable structures. • In-depth knowledge of space launch requirements and processes. • Experience with Agile development methodologies. • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Arduino, or MATLAB. • Experience working with RF devices, understanding of their basic principles, and familiarity with relevant analysis software. Pay Transparency This job posting may cover multiple career levels. To ensure greater transparency, we provide base salary ranges for all roles, regardless of location. Our standard pay ranges are based on the role's function and level, benchmarked against similar growth-stage companies. Compensation may vary based on geographical location, as certain regions may have different cost-of-living factors. The final offer will also be influenced by the candidate's skills, responsibilities, and relevant experience. Compensation Range The Compensation Range for this role is $130,000 - $155,000 DOE.

MARBORG RECOVERY Job Description JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician LOCATION: MRF Tajiguas Landfill FLSA EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt, hourly PREPARED DATE: August 2021 REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor DIRECT REPORTS: None MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operation of equipment located inside the Material Recovery Facility (MRF). This includes ensuring proper preventative maintenance inspections and troubleshooting on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. The plant mechanic must be able to accurately follow diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturers instructions, and engineering specifications. Position is to ensure functionality and reliability of heavy equipment, conveyors, screens, shredders, and facility building. MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN TYPICAL DAY: This is not just a job; this is a dedicated team determined to redefine waste recovery. We believe in making a difference every hour, every day. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following: • Performs planned maintenance inspection (PM); diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components including but not limited to balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front-end loaders and building equipment. • Make necessary repairs to plant production equipment and support equipment as required. • Maintain inventory control of maintenance repair parts. Must be able and willing to work with outside vendors as it pertains to troubleshooting and repairing all equipment necessary to our operation. • Cleaning jams, clogs and applying lubricants to machinery components. Make sure all parts of conveyors are clean to ensure a smooth run and prevent failure. • Replenishing fluids and components of engines and machinery. • Schedule and set priorities for maintenance and repair work on equipment. Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production. • Make initial inspection on equipment to be repaired and diagnose defects. • Generate work orders and evaluate repair work on its completion. • Perform highly technical work on hydraulic systems, fabrication projects, and rebuilding assignments. • Locate, correct, and adjust defects in light and heavy duty vehicular and mechanical equipment. • Adapt available tools and repair parts to specific repair problems. • Read and interpret and work from sketches, diagrams, and electrical schematics. • Acts as a lead worker by regularly instructing and directing others by assigning, reviewing and checking work. • Inspects the quality of third-party repairs and or rebuilds. • Recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance and product quality • Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns. • Requires a flexible work schedule, which may include nights and weekends to support operating schedule and the needs of the facility. • Manage facilities improvements with contractors • Work with building management to resolve any issues • Occasionally run small errands • Help make this a fun place to work. • Perform all other duties as assigned in a professional and efficient manner. • Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strives to achieve all goals. • Any other duties needed to help drive to our vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our organizations values. EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum of 3-5 years of mechanic service and repair experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: • Position requires excellent verbal and written English communication skills including; ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts suc h as ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
