Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Technical Leader Location: 100% onsite in San Jose office, 3700 Cisco Way, San Jose, CA 95134 Type: 12+ months contract with extension Client: CISCO About the Role: High-Level Responsibilities: • Design and deliver next generation chassis and cards that meets system product requirements. • Perform detailed 2D tolerance analysis for complex electro-mechanical assemblies using spreadsheet and/or 3D tolerance analysis tool such as CETol • Design and develop innovative mechanical solutions using sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast that meets EMI, safety and compliance requirements. • Develop 3D CAD model using Creo or NX • Create detailed drawings by applying Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning (GD&T) principles. • Lead resolution of issues by working closely with manufacturing team and suppliers, developing mitigation plans, and keeping management informed • Collaborate with cross functional teams (HW, SI, CAD, Thermal, Manufacturing, etc..) to negotiate requirements and evaluate technical risks and tradeoffs • Collaborate with thermal engineers to design and implement cooling solutions • Provide technical design guidance and mentoring for junior engineers Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent and 8-12 years of EMS design experience. • 8+ years of relevant experience in design of compute/network products • Expertise in use of 3D MCAD tools (Creo/NX) • Experience in performing static and dynamic analysis using tools such as Creo Simulate or ANSYS • Expert in tolerance analysis, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and statistical analysis • Experience designing sheet metal for high volume production • Strong analytical and problem solving skills • Strong knowledge and understanding of GD&T principles and tolerance analysis • Demonstrated leadership skills Preferred Qualifications: • Relevant experience in the mechanical design of computer/networking equipment for data center. • Strong knowledge in manufacturing tooling for sheet metal, plastic, and die-casting • Experience in designing plastic and die-cast parts • Strong mechanical aptitude • Mechanism design experience a plus • Experience in ECO, BOM, and Deviation processes, (Agile experience a plus) • Familiarity with PDMLink (TeamCenter) a plus. • Experience in Model-Based Definition (MBD) a plus. • An excellent team player who is willing to listen, compromise and work together to find the best solution for the product · Comments for Suppliers: Please check JD details, strictly share only relevant profiles to screen and shortlist.

Documents activities supporting maintenance best practices to ensure that continuous improvement activities have adequate and reliable data for analysis. Reviews and analyzes measurement data collected by self or others in order to ensure proper documentation, adherence to procedures, and proper use of standards and references. Executes test protocols developed by self or others (Reliability and/or Engineers) in support of the qualification of new and existing equipment. Ensures equipment/system documentation requirements are completely and properly documented in the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAM). Skills: Working knowledge of schematics, P&ID drawings, and ISA symbols & numbering. Demonstrated ability to effectively maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and equipment Requires electrical, mechanical and technical aptitude. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability and willingness to maintain accurate records. Demonstrated ability to learn and apply all relevant Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures and other regulatory requirements. Attention to detail, safety, quality and customer requirements. Demonstrate a high level of personal motivation and initiative. Ability to adapt and be flexible with daily work assignment changes as well as a continuously improving work environment. Ability to make decisions within the scope of operating policies and procedures. Physical Demands / Surroundings Working conditions include being outside in any weather condition, climbing stairs and ladders, working in awkward positions, working in sterile areas with proper gowning and aseptically cleaned equipment, working in and around equipment containing hazardous chemicals, including toxic substances while wearing proper respiratory protection and personal protective equipment, and working in areas of elevated temperatures such as boiler rooms. Manually lifting components, parts, equipment, and tools is a normal and routine part of the job. Items over 50 pounds, generally, are lifted with mechanical assistance or help from co-workers. On occasion, heavier lifts without assistance are necessary due to the confines of the workspace. Compliance to company policies, gowning, SOPs, cGMPs, documentation and training requirements, etc. Would be responsible for following proper safety protocols and acceptable work standards.
