Mechanical Engineer II

Job Summary Mercury Systems is seeking a hard-working, innovative mechanical engineer who can learn quickly and bring a fresh perspective to complex design challenges. In this role, you will have a hands-on opportunity to design, analyze, test complex RF PCBAs, and RF module assemblies, including multiple methods of cooling utilizing the latest technologies. Job Responsibilities: • Mechanical engineering tasks related to electronic module assembly design based on open standards. (Assignments include mechanical packaging design, printed wiring board layout and ECAD support, connector selection, label & cable design, prototype inspection & assembly, environmental testing, and the documentation required to procure and assemble hardware) • Collaborating with other disciplines including Hardware/Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement as part of your daily activities • Taking products from concept design all the way through integration, test, and production release • Conceptualization, design, development, analysis and documentation of mechanical hardware and/or systems for use in rugged military applications • Design of complex fixturing to support testing and advanced manufacturing techniques • Creation of complex models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks • Communication of design concepts and document product to diverse audiences internal and external to Mercury • Supporting product verification testing such as thermal, airflow, vibration, mechanical shock, humidity, and environmental stress screening • Driving procurement of prototype material to verify form, fit, and function • Failure analysis of discrepant material in coordination with manufacturing and application engineering • Drafting Test plans and Inspection reports as part of verification and validation • Structuring Bills of Material (BOMs/PLs) • Drafting and managing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs/ECOs) Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering • Typically requires 2+ years of experience • Experience and understanding of Printed Wiring Board Assemblies design and processes • An understanding of heat transfer and thermal management • General knowledge of both conventional manufacturing techniques and advanced manufacturing, such as additive manufacturing • Experience with 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks • Familiarity with material control processes and documentation such as routers, work instructions, etc. and tools related to those functions (Agile, Oracle, EPDM, etc) • Proficiency with standard documentation and presentation tools • This position is onsite in Oxnard, CA with no relocation assistance provided • This position requires you to have or be able to obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens. Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering • aerospace and defense industry experience • Familiarity with ANSI/VITA Standards (46.0, 48.x, 66.x, 67.x) • Familiarity with GD&T • Proficient in SolidWorks • Experience with Thermal Analysis (FloTherm, 6Sigma, SC Stream, SC Flow) • Experience with Structural Analysis (SolidWorks Simulation, Femap/NASTRAN) "This position requires you to access information that is subject to U.S. export regulations. Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description: About the Role: Nextracker is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team to design the next generation of Nextracker products. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing next-generation products, from concept to manufacturing. What You Will Do: • Lead mechanical product design, prototyping, and testing of power electronics enclosures and support systems. • Work closely with cross functional teams and external partners to ensure project goals and schedules are met. • Develop comprehensive test plans, build test apparatus and validate design performance. • Create documentation suitable for prototyping, design and production stages. • Conduct in-depth analyses, including FEA (static, dynamic, thermal), CFD, and tolerance analysis, to optimize designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability. • Present design reviews and technical reports to internal stakeholders and management. • Investigate and resolve field failures or product performance issues. Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's/ Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; • 10+ years of proven experience in mechanical design and product development, with a strong track record of successful product launches. • Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks and EPDM, including advanced modeling, surfacing, and simulation capabilities. • Extensive experience with FEA software (Ansys) and a deep understanding of structural mechanics and heat transfer. • Thorough understanding of GD&T principles and their application in design and manufacturing. • Strong knowledge of various manufacturing processes, including machining, sheet metal fabrication, casting, injection molding, and additive manufacturing. • Demonstrated experience with DFM/DFA principles and their practical application. • Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail. • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
