Stationary Engineer

Job Title: Building Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Building Engineer to perform repairs, maintenance, and servicing of building facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, at a medical center. This role involves general building and facilities maintenance in settings such as hospitals, schools, commercial buildings, or high-density residential buildings. The position requires expertise in changing lighting/ballast, patching drywall, painting, general repair, and preventative maintenance. While experience with HVAC systems, pumps, motors, boilers, and refrigerators is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Proficiency with basic hand and power tools is necessary, along with the ability to work comfortably in a hospital environment. Responsibilities • Perform repairs and maintenance of building facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and heating and air systems. • Conduct general building and facilities maintenance tasks such as changing lighting/ballast, drywall patching, painting, and preventative maintenance. • Utilize hand and power tools for various repair tasks. • Work in a professional and friendly manner in a hospital setting, interacting with patients and visitors. • Provide support to the maintenance/engineering team, filling in for other technicians as needed. Essential Skills • 4-5 years of facilities/building maintenance experience in hospital, school, commercial, or high-density residential settings. • 3+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair (including HVAC, plumbing, boilers, condensers, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, pumps). • Proficiency with hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, saws, and grinders. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in HVAC systems is a plus. • Ability to work in a temperature-controlled hospital and clinic environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Merced, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
