Maintenance Technician 1st shift

THE ROLE: • This position will report to the: Maintenance Manager • Travel Requirement: None • Location: Bakersfield, CA • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Hourly • Shift: 1st shift 6am-230pm • Employment Category: Full Time - Regular • Pay Range: $29-33/Hr. WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing technical maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting malfunctions, following diagrams, sketches, equipment manuals, and manufacturing instructions, and installations with two beverage plants, a salad dressing plant, a concentrate plant, IQF plant, and a fiber plant. Maintenance Technician is responsible for following all food safety, quality practices, and all work safety guidelines. JOB DUTIES: • Locate source of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments • Help verify spare parts inventories for plant equipment • Troubleshoot major and minor malfunctions in plant equipment • Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends • Communicate with production management all equipment readiness • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations • Help develop preventive and predictive plans to increase overall equipment effectiveness • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during the course of assigned responsibilities • Exercise good judgment by performing work safely and in conformance with regulatory agencies as well as company standards • Perform manual labor in the execution of repairs and preventive maintenance • Other duties as assigned WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: • Minimum high school diploma or GED • Basic Aseptic operations and preventive maintenance on all plant equipment (i.e. Krones, Packaging, Palletizers and Blow Molders • Motors, pumps, conveyors, pneumatic tools, heat exchangers, fluid systems, steam systems, refrigeration, decanters, evaporators, and basic electronics instrumentation, PLC’s • Occupational hazards and standard safety practices/precautions • Food Quality and Safety program details and responsibilities • Read and understand equipment and technical manuals • Communicate clearly and concisely Preferred Qualifications: • Trade or technical school is highly desired • 3 years of related experience preferred Physical Demands: • Ability to climb, bend and stretch • Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, gases, inclement weather, cold storage temperatures • Must be able to lift 50 lbs WHAT WE OFFER Our rich benefits packages are designed to support the health and well-being of both our eligible co-workers and their families. • Medical • Dental • Vision • Group Life and AD&D • Voluntary Life and AD&D • Group Short-Term Disability • Group Long-Term Disability • Flexible Spending Accounts • Employee Assistance Program • 401(k) • Paid Time Off EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY We are an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a culturally diverse organization. QP (Mechanical Helper)

COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Drummac, Inc. is an integrated rail services company that specializes in providing mechanical and janitorial services to the transportation industry. With operations located across the United States, the services we perform range in scope from routine mechanical maintenance, inspections, repairs and cleaning to providing equipment and supplies for the transportation industry with a niche in passenger rail. We provide these services using in-house resources, enabling exceptional quality control enjoyed by few companies in our industry. JOB SUMMARY The Qualified Person (“QP”) must be able to work in compliance with all applicable railroad regulations and standards while maintaining and repairing passenger rail cars and locomotives under the supervision of the Passenger Rail Mechanic (Qualified Maintenance Person, or “QMP”). In addition to the mechanical functions, the QP will be responsible for cleaning passenger rail cars as required per train schedules. They must adhere to and maintain strict compliance with corporate/office policies and procedures, established health and safety protocols, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: QP (Mechanical Helper) • Troubleshoots passenger cars including but not limited to toilet systems, air conditioning systems, doors, panels, lights, electrical systems, and brake systems along with making any necessary repairs. • Ability to fill out regulatory, client, and Company-required paperwork. • Performs necessary electrical tests, removes, disassembles, replaces, repairs, modifies, rebuilds, assembles, adjusts, and maintains batteries and all electrical equipment or components on locomotives. • Provides Blue signal protection and sets up and removes Blue flags/lights. • Applies and removes 480V ground power cables. • Performs cleaning duties on passenger rail cars and locomotives as needed. • Communicates written and/or verbal findings of inspections to Supervisor. • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays. • Flexible schedule to accommodate dynamic train schedules. • Ability to work outdoors in inclement work conditions is required. • Wears and uses required protective equipment while working. • Takes responsibility for own safety while on the job. • Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, floors, seats, surfaces and trim. • Cleans passenger cars, restrooms and replenishes bathroom supplies. • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies. • Dusts furniture and equipment, washes windows, door panels and sills, polishes metalwork, and replaces lightbulbs. • Empties wastebaskets, empties and cleans ashtrays, and transports trash and waste to disposal area. • Follows Drummac guidelines for conduct. • Keeps area around dumpsters clean and secure. • Notifies supervisor of any faulty equipment. • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
