Job Overview Schrader Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a talented experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating with the design and development of innovative mechanical systems, products, and components. Responsibilities • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, products, and components. • Create and maintain design documentation including drawings, specifications, and test plans. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, automation, and refrigeration. • Perform feasibility studies and design reviews to ensure the systems meet performance, cost, and quality requirements. • Control projects from concept through to production launch, including project scheduling and budgeting. • Identify and implement design improvements and cost reduction initiatives. • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve design practices and outcomes. Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (not required, but a plus). • At least 10 years of experience in mechanical design and development of complex assemblies including machined, lasered, formed, welded, electromechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components. • Expert/Proficient in the use of CAD. 5-Years minimum in the use of SolidWorks and AutoCAD required. • Experience with design for manufacturability and assembly. • Knowledge of system safety measures required for mechanical equipment and the ability to implement them into the design of custom equipment. • 5 plus years of hands on experience with equipment assembly, repair, or any fabrication methods is a plus. • Proficient in sheet metal design and manufacturability. • Proficient in machined component design, tolerancing and manufacturability. • Proficient is shop print generation, including knowledge of welding requirements and weld symbols. • Knowledge of various plastics and metals and knowledge of when/where to use them. • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail. • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams. • Experience leading projects and managing budgets.
