Maintenance and Reliability Technician

The Opportunity: Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Maintenance and Reliability Technician to optimize our Performance Materials organization. This Paris, KY role is full-time, on-site; 24/7/365-day operation where you will work 3 nights on/2 off 12 hours per day (IE 6 PM- 6AM). Who you are: Minimum Education: • Highschool diploma/GED. Technical school experience a plus. Required Experience (3+ yrs) • Performing maintenance or general carpentry (IE: on doors, floors, docks, overhead doors, roof downspouts, product racks) • Utilizing material handling equipment. • Completing required reports (IE: maintenance task completion) • MIG and stick welding • Troubleshooting electrical circuits utilizing multi- meter • Utilizing hand tools • Utilizing shop tools (IE: band saw, drill press, lathe) • Working independently • Answering security alarm calls • Basic mathematics utilization experience (IE: addition/multiplication). • Collaboration skills (IE: Microsoft Word, CCMS) • Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Experience: • Maintaining building electrical and mechanical systems. • Maintaining HVAC systems. • Boiler. • Compressor. • Fire system. The Maintenance and Reliability Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair activities in a cGMP chemical manufacturing environment. As a key team member, the self-motivated Maintenance Technician will: • Work collaboratively to include alternate shift workers • Adapt to a fast-paced environment with a commitment to continuous quality. • Utilize business level communication skills (IE: verbal, written, and interpersonal). ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions). Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, dust or gases. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Required to stand and walk for a large part of the working day. Physical requirements include talking, hearing, bending/stooping, squatting, reaching above shoulder height, crouching, kneeling, balancing and pushing/pulling. Also requires some lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Use of both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Shift Maintenance Technician

Uses all hand power tools and electrical testing equipment as necessary in performance of duties. Uses drill presses, grinders, metal saws and pipe threading machines. Repairs and replaces parts in machines and equipment by dismantling, locating/troubleshooting defective parts and reassembling. Makes necessary electrical repair or replacements. Makes necessary minor parts to perform work such a brackets angles, braces piping, rigging, etc. by using metal cutting saws, drill press, pipe threaders, hand drills, hydraulic press, and hand tools. Tests machinery and equipment as necessary at intervals and upon completion of all jobs to ensure proper operation, including all safety guards and devices.
