Wastequip is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations through the design of tooling and fixtures, CNC programming, and process improvements. This role will also contribute to research and development initiatives, assist with quoting for fabricated components, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive manufacturing efficiency and product quality. This position will provide support to quality control efforts and R&D testing, making it ideal for a candidate with a multidisciplinary background. Experience working with welded components and within a welding-intensive manufacturing environment is a plus. Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 (based on experience) Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Design and develop tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support efficient and accurate fabrication and assembly. • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for vertical mills, lathes, and plasma machines. • Assist in research and development efforts, including prototype builds, process validation, and in-house automated cycle testing. • Support the part quoting process by estimating time, material, and resource requirements. • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity and reduce waste. • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions. • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities in tooling, setup, and operations. • Maintain accurate documentation for process plans, setup sheets, and programming files. • Create and manage part numbers, BOMs, and routings within Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a comparable ERP platform. • Provide training and support to machine operators on proper use of new fixtures or machining techniques. • Contribute to capital equipment planning and justify investments in tooling or automation as needed. • Travel up-to 5% to support vendor visits, testing sites, or collaboration with other Wastequip facilities. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience). • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal fabrication, CNC machining, or welding-intensive operations. • Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code), CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360, Mastercam), and solid modeling tools (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks). Experience explicitly in Inventor and Inventor CAM is a plus. • Hands-on experience with fixture design, tool selection, and machining processes. • Experience working with or supporting welded assemblies and fabrication processes involving MIG/TIG welding. • Familiarity with quoting methods, including time studies, material selection, and routing estimation. • Strong problem-solving and process analysis skills. • Excellent technical communication and collaboration abilities. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus. • Experience in Quality control and inspection tools (CMMs, calipers, GD&T) is a plus. • Experience with Tarping systems or refuse equipment manufacturing is a plus. • Experience with Industrial robotics or automation systems is a plus.
