Responsibilities & Qualifications: Summary Statement: The incumbent is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day maintenance and repairs of a wide range of electromechanical equipment. Also, from time to time, the incumbent will be involved in project work related to productivity improvement and equipment reliability. The maintenance system requires that the incumbent be able to communicate well verbally and in writing be able to read and understand the technical literature associated with the assigned equipment. The incumbent is also expected to take a proactive stance on all safety matters, whether of a personal or third party The incumbent should be able to work with a minimum of supervision. They should be able to organize and supervise less skilled crafts person on specific jobs and should be able to train less skilled crafts persons. Due to the open shop concept of the Berea Plant, it is also expected that all tradesmen work outside their trade as the need and their abilities permit. Qualifications: The incumbent must have a high school diploma and journeyman, vocational or Apprentice qualifications with a minimum of 5 years industrial maintenance experience. The incumbent must able to: • interpret drawings, including mechanical and fabrication drawings, fluid system schematics, tolerancing systems. • have a working knowledge of basic hydraulic and pneumatic systems • perform basic millwright skills (bearings, reducers, conveying systems, machining) • to perform basic arc welding • perform basic rigging/lifting • use volt/ohm/milliamp meter and disconnect/reconnect electrical components up to 440V supply • to work in a team environment toward accomplishment of objectives. Additional Considerations • Project experience is desirable, including development of Scopes of Work, creation of bid packages, tracking/reporting project status, coordination of contractor activities, monitoring installations and verifying functionality. • Ability to use a computerized maintenance management system. The role requires the ability to work 40-60 hours per week, including weekends on a rotational basis, and holidays. Up to 5% domestic and international travel may be required.
