Mechanical Technician

Perform a variety of journeyman mechanical, welder/pipefitter, painter/carpenter trade functions in the installation/removal or corrective/preventive maintenance, repair or modification of facility systems, equipment and components, such as conveyors, compressors, cranes, piping, pumps and valves, etc. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts and specifications in the performance of these duties to ensure system integrity is maintained. In performing emergency repairs to systems, equipment and components, record the as–found condition as well as the repaired condition; investigate operational reports of equipment failure and analyze system characteristics to determine cause of failure and necessary corrective action. Demonstrate and conduct required inspection and testing of equipment and components as necessary to complete work packages and ensure systems are returned to operational conditions. Job Purpose Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will work in a team environment with suppliers and EnerSys to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste, and continuous improvements. Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that purchased products produced meet quality standards needed to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction while ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to EnerSys local and corporate Quality Management System. COMPETENCIES: • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and their requirements. Included here is the ability to learn and understand the requirements of alternate quality systems standards such as ISO 9000, IATF16949, VDA6.3, ISO 14001, AS9100, TL9000, ISO13485, etc. • Strong knowledge and experience in performing supplier auditing adhering to various quality management systems and Strong problem identification and problem-solving skills. • Experience with Plastic Injection Molding, Mechanical and Electrical assembly processes and the ability to understand EnerSys roles, responsibilities, departments including Sourcing, Purchasing, Engineering, and Suppliers. • Must be a problem solver, self-starter able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks with minimal supervision (Strong auditing, prioritization, and communication skills). • Must be able to understand and become proficient in the business systems required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
