The Fergus Falls Public Schools are seeking to fill a full-time, entry level, mechanical worker position. This position is year round and is under the custodian contract. On-the-job training provided. Work hours are generally Monday-Friday 6 am-2:30 pm. JOB SUMMARY: To maintain the school physical plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The tasks listed below are not intended to limit other tasks that might reasonably be assigned as necessary. • Must have a general knowledge of all trades and the ability to report problems to the head mechanical worker and/or district wide mechanical supervisor. • Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season, as directed by the head mechanical person. • Repair air handling units by changing belts, cleaning heating coils, changing filters, changing bearings, grease bearings, remove and replace worn out motors, remove and install new radiators as needed. • Repair, maintenance and operation of all pneumatic controls used for temperature controls, controllers for fans, hot water converters, air operated valves, as directed by the head mechanical person. • Responsible for snow removal, as needed. • Participate in in-service training programs and keep up-to date with "Employee Right to Know" program.
