Your role in our team • You will produce a mechanical design for packaging machinery that meets the customers’ specifications using creativity and innovation • You handle all aspects of design engineering work • You provide production support to the machining and assembly areas • You use Pro/E to model purchase parts and custom parts • You draft detailed multi-view drawings of machine and products • You perform research on design of manufacturing processes • You perform prototyping activities of new product development • You evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases • You review product design for compliance and engineering principles, company standards, and customer’s requirements • You work with vendors, customers, and employees on a professional level • You determine problem analysis and problem resolution • You specify and order integrated tools and equipment • You troubleshoot to solve problems related to assigned projects • You create BOM’s for purchased parts and machined parts • You directly communicate with customers in the form of meetings and presentations to understand and define their needs • You travel to customer’s plant to give presentation on their system and the assemblies that make up the system Your profile • You have a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent • You have at minimum 5 years of experience and knowledge in mechanical design in automation or related field • You have two years of FAI design engineering experience • You have a moderate skill level in Pro/Engineer software • You are capable of designing new concepts and standards • You are able to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time span • You have great leadership, interpersonal and communication skills • You have strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously • You are able to travel 10% of the year • You have troubleshooting skills, both mechanical and electrical Your working environment at Körber Join Körber Pharma and you will work in an innovative, friendly and digital environment providing the opportunity to advance your career. POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES The Mechanical Engineer plays a key role in the successful execution of projects. Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, CIA, this individual will provide technical and engineering excellence, as well as successful delivery of work to our customers. The Engineer is responsible for a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and managed – both externally and internally. Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: • Prepares engineering documents and equipment specifications to meet contracted scope of work and to ensure application of Thermodynamic Principles (e.g., HVAC Engineering and Design, load/energy modeling calculations, etc.). • Works within Revit and other design / drafting software to assist in producing drawings, schedules and details. • Basic understanding of Architectural, Electrical, Civil and Structural Engineering construction practices. • Coordination with other disciplines (electrical, controls, structural, commissioning) to ensure a successful project. • Develops budgets for assigned scope of work and is accountable for ensuring we stay within scope. • May serve as project manager for complete projects, overseeing a project team. • Supports the business development process through input to proposals, meeting and presenting to prospective customers, etc. • Provides work direction to other team members, including subcontractors, as assigned. • Approves final equipment selections and drawing submittals. • Provides technical and engineering support to other departments/disciplines. • Construction administration- leads and attends meetings, reviews change orders, responds to RFI’s.
