Product Engineer

About the position Curries (an ASSA ABLOY company) is expanding our Product Engineering Team. This role will be based out of our manufacturing facility located in Mason City, IA. As a Product Engineer, you will play a key role on our team while planning and coordinating development of new products and improvements of existing products. You will have the opportunity to gain exposure, be mentored, and grow within an Engineering Team, focusing on creating and/or re-tooling products to meet customer needs. Responsibilities • Identify product improvement and cost reduction ideas and participate in Value Analysis / Value Engineering activities. • Document product changes and create and maintain design specifications. • Develop drawings of new or improved product designs utilizing CAD software. • Coordinate product verification and testing for internal requirements as well as external 3rd party certifications (UL, Intertek, FBC, etc.). • Analyze product specifications and custom product requests for feasibility. • Lead the selection of sustainable materials for new or improved product designs in concert with Supply Chain and ASSA ABLOY guidance tools. • Develop and document specifications for purchased materials and components. • Assist with costing of new or improved products using material, labor, and overhead costs. • Provide engineering support to Drafting, Order Processing, Customer Service, Quality and Manufacturing. • Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees. • Other duties as assigned. Mechanical Maintenance Manager

The Mechanical Maintenance Manager role is based in Mason City, IA, and reports directly to the Plant Manager. What you’ll get to do Manage routine and non-routine mechanical equipment inspections and repairs on all major plant systems and mobile equipment. Determine the strategy and execution of preventative maintenance and continuous improvement programs. Manage the allocation of mechanical maintenance resources and budget for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with the Electrical Maintenance Manager to provide oversight and leadership to the maintenance function by: Developing a long-term strategy for the Maintenance Department. Reviewing and approving bid documents and technical specifications. Coordinating plant projects and shutdowns. Identifying and implementing development opportunities for maintenance staff. Providing technical expertise to assist the production, process, and maintenance departments. Liaison with Lehigh Hanson’s corporate engineering group regarding maintenance activities. Provide ongoing maintenance support to the plant for all shifts by managing the plant’s maintenance on-call program. This includes evaluating and determining the course of action for maintenance incidents after hours and on weekends and may require on-site supervision of the resolution to maintain operational efficiency. Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of corporate guidelines, assessment of capabilities, training, and compliance. Proactively managing the health & safety of employees and deliver best in class safety performance. Essential Experience and Skills Strong understanding of preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance principles, techniques, and technologies. Prior experience managing staff in a mechanical maintenance function. Maintenance experience in heavy manufacturing. Strong understanding of preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance principles, techniques, and technologies. Demonstrated experience in project management. Strong management and leadership skills to ensure coordination of work and completion of projects and tasks. CAD software. Experience evaluating and presenting Return on Investment analysis and proposals. Experience in a union environment. Strong Safety orientation and habits.
