Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Truck Mechanic to join our dedicated team. As a Commercial Truck Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and operation of commercial trucks. Your expertise will contribute to the safety and reliability of our operations and the satisfaction of our clients. Responsibilities: • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections. • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and suspension issues in commercial trucks. • Repair and replace faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems and any related issues. • Conduct thorough inspections of trucks to identify potential issues and provide recommendations for repairs. • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately diagnose problems and ensure proper repair procedures. • Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed on each truck. • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working in the shop. • Collaborate with the team to prioritize and complete repair tasks efficiently. • Stay updated with industry advancements and emerging technologies in truck mechanics. • Candidate must be a motivated individual who can work independently • Must be able to diagnose, repair and inspect a variety of truck tractors • Must have Tools • Complete work orders Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; formal training from a recognized technical school is a plus. • Proven experience as a Commercial Truck Mechanic or similar role. • Strong understanding of commercial truck systems, engines, and components. • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment. • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Excellent teamwork and communication skills. • Valid TX driver's license and clean driving record. Distribution Design Technician - Technician Sr

About the position The Distribution Design Technician - Technician Sr position is a hybrid role based in El Campo, TX, responsible for performing entry-level technical work and related activities associated with the planning, engineering, design, analysis, research, development, testing, construction, maintenance, and operation of Company equipment and facilities. This role is essential in ensuring that the technical aspects of distribution systems are managed effectively and efficiently. The technician will gain knowledge of standards, codes, and regulations relevant to their area of assignment, and will assist in handling defined portions of routine problems beneficial to AEP. The position requires a basic understanding of computer literacy and technical knowledge acquired from an Associate Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering Technology. In this role, the technician will work under the guidance of higher-level employees, demonstrating the ability to collaborate with others to supply information and seek assistance as necessary. Planning and organization skills are crucial, as the technician will need to prioritize routine work to meet the demands of the company while maintaining accurate records. Problem-solving skills and initiative are also important, as the technician will apply their technical knowledge and experience to resolve issues encountered in their work. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for interacting with internal and external customers, assisting in the preparation of technical reports, and being a team player. The technician will develop decision-making skills based on sound judgment and job knowledge, gaining an understanding of the roles and responsibilities within the local organizational unit. The position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to walk various terrains in adverse conditions, carry and handle equipment, and use tools for clearing brush during survey work. Responsibilities • Perform entry-level technical work associated with planning, engineering, design, analysis, research, development, testing, construction, maintenance, and operation of Company equipment and facilities. , • Gain knowledge of standards, codes, and regulations relevant to the area of assignment. , • Assist employees in handling defined portions of routine problems when beneficial to AEP. , • Plan work in accordance with AEP standard planning practices and prioritize routine work to meet company demands. , • Maintain accurate records of work activities and findings. , • Apply technical knowledge and experience to resolve problems encountered in assigned work. , • Seek opportunities to improve processes and increase job knowledge/technical skills. , • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, both orally and in writing. , • Assist in the preparation of technical reports and papers. , • Develop decision-making skills based on sound judgment and job knowledge. Requirements • Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Civil/Mechanical Engineering Technology or related fields plus 2 years of related utility industry work experience; or , • High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related utility industry work experience. , • Basic computer literacy, knowledge, and skills.
