Engineer II Mechanical

Physical Requirements Physical demands • Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. • Position will include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots. Work environment • Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse, and trailer or building on construction sites. • On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells, whistles and alarms. Mechanical Engineer (Fixed Equipment – TA)

Mechanical Engineer (Fixed Equipment - TA) Location: Corpus Christi, TX Daily Duties Include: - Support improved reliability, integrity, and maintenance of Fixed Equipment for TA projects. - Oversight of Maintenance and Reliability of General Plant Process Units, Fixed Equipment and Storage Tanks, Dock Facilities, and Transfer Pipelines. - Request and approve quotation for purchase of equipment. - Submit Engineering Work Requests for new process piping/equipment and major repairs. - Review AFE submittals. - Mechanical Design Review for new equipment to ensure that they meet current design standards (ASME/API). - Review fabrication drawings. - Participate in investigations/root cause analysis for safety incidents and major fixed equipment failures to provide solutions for future mitigation. - Lead technical investigations for minor fixed equipment failures and provided solutions for future mitigation. - Review requests and approve design for installation of leak repair devices, such as bolted engineered enclosures, welded enclosures, and composite wraps. - Review weld procedures and welding processes. - WPS/PQR approval for high alloy repairs. - Review alternative welding & stress relieving processes. - Develop requirements for welding on live process lines or equipment. Highlights of Skills and Competencies: Proficient will all relevant codes and standards including: - ASME Sect. II, VIII, IX, V, PCC-2, PCC-1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, o API 510, 570, 520/521, 571, 574, 579, 580/581, 653, 650, 751, 1102, 1104, 1117,2201 o 49 CFR 192/195. - Proficient in the use of specialized engineering software. - Plant Condition Management System (PCMS) – System Record Review o Caesar-II to perform piping stress analysis. - PI Process Book (Glance) for real time Process Equipment operational conditions. - (Sage) software to evaluate process equipment and piping systems. - Jade software to evaluate and optimize bolted joints. - Autocad. - Microsoft Office applications. - Development and maintenance of sight specific Engineering and Inspection Standards, Practices, and Procedures. - Development and utilization of Plant CCD’s (Corrosion Control Documents). - Participate in Corporate wide Engineering Technical teams to maintain consistency between all sights. - Leading and participating in large expenditure projects for both Maintenance and Capitol projects.
