Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Port Lavaca, TX Full-Time $90,000 - $120,000 Job Summary: We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support operations at an industrial facility in Port Lavaca, TX. This role will focus on mechanical maintenance and reliability of utility systems, including steam generation, cooling water, compressed air, and other critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial mechanical systems and be committed to safety, efficiency, and long-term asset reliability. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and execute mechanical maintenance activities across utility units (e.g., boilers, chillers, air compressors, pumps, piping, and heat exchangers). • Develop, implement, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs. • Troubleshoot equipment failures and develop solutions to minimize downtime and optimize performance. • Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to schedule and prioritize repairs and inspections. • Ensure mechanical equipment complies with all applicable safety and environmental regulations. • Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders for project execution and upgrades. • Analyze maintenance data and use reliability engineering tools (e.g., RCFA, FMEA) to drive continuous improvement. • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and mechanical integrity reports. • Support planning and execution of turnarounds and shutdowns as needed. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. • 3+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or utility plant environment. • Strong understanding of mechanical systems related to utilities, including piping systems, rotating equipment, and pressure vessels. • Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API). • Proficient in CMMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in a petrochemical, chemical, or refinery setting. • Certification or training in reliability-centered maintenance or mechanical integrity programs. • Familiarity with OSHA PSM and other regulatory compliance programs.

Other duties may be assigned. • Knowledge of piping system components and grades. • Knowledge of standard materials for pipefitting process. • Ability to interpret information and drawings for pipefitting projects. • Familiarity with Isometrics drawings. • Solid understanding of performing basic math in everyday activities. • Perform required installations as per project specifications. • Assist in disassembling and removing any damage or worn-out pipe. • Install various piping with help of hand and power tools on regular basis. • Assist in transportation of materials, supplies and related equipment. • Analyze and identify any safety hazards and recommended appropriate actions.

The Mechanical Engineer will be assigned onsite at client location in Point Comfort, Texas. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Read, interpret, and approve engineering drawings and specifications. • Engineering support for Mechanical discipline with ability to work independently. • Provide Mechanical Engineering support for assigned projects. • Apply skills with technical knowledge in the application of mechanical and PCE equipment (Process Containment Equipment). • Design pressure vessels, rotating equipment, process containment equipment, piping systems, skids units, and some process design. • Knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems, applicable codes, and standards to ensure the most effective design is in compliance with Safety and Loss Prevention principles, industry standards and local codes and regulations. • Performing mechanical equipment specification and procurement. • Providing estimates of work to be performed. Qualifications and Requirements: • BS Mechanical Engineering. • Knowledge in Production and Processing of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for effective manufacture and distribution of goods. • Team player able to work effectively with other disciplines. • Excellent written/verbal communication skills are a must. • Comfortable with fast-paced work environment. Quick learner. • Excellent problem solving skills and documentation/procedural skills. • Strong mechanical aptitude. • Safety and detail focused. • Strong business acumen and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. • High ethical standards, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
