Mechanical Technician

Mechanical Technician– LEL International Location: Spartanburg SC Department: Production Job Type: Full-Time About Us LEL International is an industry leader in manufacturing high-quality industrial generator enclosures. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Technician 2 to join our production team. Position Summary The Mechanical Technician plays a key role in performing advanced mechanical assembly tasks. This position focuses on the integration of radiators, generators, fuel systems, and structural components within industrial generator enclosures. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of taking the lead on complex mechanical builds in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities • Lead integration of radiators and generators, ensuring precise alignment and secure fitting • Build and install fuel water separators per industry standards • Install gensets, mufflers, and other critical components with high quality • Install structural elements including walls, roofs, louvers, baffles, and dampers • Mock up, measure, and install fuel lines, leak detection systems, level sensors, and e-vent systems • Oversee assembly of fuel tanks and enclosures • Perform advanced mechanical tasks such as setting isolators, building muffler stands, installing doors, and mounting battery racks • Route and secure battery cables • Prepare units for final assembly, including wrapping, staging, and prepping accessories • Maintain high-quality workmanship aligned with LEL standards • Work collaboratively with production teams to ensure efficient workflow • Adhere to all safety protocols and standard operating procedures • Adapt to shifting production needs and assist with additional tasks as required Qualifications Required: • Strong proficiency in mechanical assembly • Experience integrating radiators, generators, and fuel system components • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment safely and effectively • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and structural components • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality • Effective communication and teamwork skills • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred: • Experience in industrial generator enclosure assembly or related manufacturing environment • Ability to perform complex mechanical tasks with minimal supervision • Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor other team members Work Environment & Physical Requirements • Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures • Requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, and working with tools for extended periods • Must be able to lift and move materials as required (various weight ranges common in mechanical assembly) Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
