Summary of the position: This role is responsible for design, development and integration of mechanical components and sub-systems for a variety of compressor products. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the NPD engineering team and cross functionally to deliver world class compressor solutions. Duties and responsibilities: • Lead development of mechanical components and sub-systems within New Product Development projects. • Provide clear direction to design team resulting in accurate, manufacturable designs. • Perform calculations and analysis to ensure design meets product requirements for performance, serviceability, and safety. • Lead and participate in technical and cross functional design reviews. • Adhere to and create deliverables related to phase gate new product development process. • Work closely with supply chain and suppliers to ensure product cost targets are met. • Drive designs through engineering release process to achieve on-time and high-quality releases. • Support product validation through creation of test plans, coordination of sample part procurement, test lab support and generation of test reports. • Support production via immediate resolution of shop floor issues and troubleshooting guidance. • Occasional travel may be required, 5%. Qualifications: Education: • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (required). Professional experience: • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in product design desired. • 3D modeling/CAD experience desired. Proficiency in Siemens NX is a plus. • Experience with SAP ERP/PLM systems is a plus. • Experience with industrial rotating equipment is a plus.
