Mechanical Engineer

Full time positions available with an established manufacturer of bulk material handling equipment. This position requires a BA in Mechanical Engineering. Excellent communication, good presentation and problem-solving skills plus a creative approach for new ideas. The ability to work under pressure and meet company deadlines. Experience with AutoCAD and 3-D modeling (preferably SolidWorks) required as well as a strong mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail. Sheet metal fabrication a plus. Responsibilities will include: • Tube conveyor, Bucket elevator, and Conveyor design. • Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods. • Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning. • Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product or system. • Compiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product. • Plans and develops experimental test programs. • Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. • Consult with research and other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required and also to clarify or resolve problems and develop designs. • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. • Plans and formulates aspects of research and development proposals such as objectives or purpose of project, applications that can be utilized from findings, costs of projects, and equipment and human resource requirements. • Makes recommendations for equipment upgrades or purchases to optimize use of capital dollars. Includes and identifies return on investment to management with proposals. • Works with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. • Recommends changes to improve quality and reduce costs. • Helps troubleshoot production problems and takes preventive or corrective action. • Promotes and maintains a safe work environment. • Schedules and assists in training other departments and customers on product design, installation, operation, safety and maintenance of Universal's products.

Mechanical Technician

Equipment Maintenance Specialist This is a key role in our service team, where you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on complex equipment. As an Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will work independently to ensure that our fleet of equipment is in good working condition. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools, with a strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of construction equipment. You will also need to own the necessary tools for the position. In addition to your technical skills, we are looking for someone who is a team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to provide exceptional customer service. You will also need to be able to lift items up to 45 lbs regularly.
