Engineering Services Manager The Musco Product Development Engineering Team has an opening for a Engineering Services Manager at our Oskaloosa, IA office. Hear why we are #TeamMusco Essential Criteria: • Minimum of Two-year degree in drafting, design, configuration management, or relevant courses. • Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering document control, coordinating with production, and approving documents for production in a company that develops and manufactures products • A high level of attention to detail is required. • Good electrical, electronic, and mechanical aptitude is preferred. • Very good organizational skills and the ability to move multiple projects forward concurrently are required. • Experience with AutoCAD, Pro/E, Word, and Excel is required. • Experience with engineering document control processes, drawing systems, change notice systems, and multi-level BOMs is required. • Experience with build-to-order product configuration processes is preferred. • Experience with LED & HID lighting systems is preferred. • Experience with managing products at multiple manufacturing locations is preferred. Roles and Responsibilities: • Direct the activities of the Engineering Services Coordinators, Technicians and CAD Drafters • Lead all Product Development Engineering document control and configuration management efforts • Work with purchasing and production personnel to coordinate production implementations through the engineering change notice (ECN) process to minimize impact on cost and inventory and to reduce deviations. • Check documents created by others for correctness and to assure that standard practices are being followed • Maintain accurate build-to-order product configurator system. • Review and communicate new products and routine product design changes to understand Pricing System cost impacts. • Support the transition of products changing to OBS (Obsolete) or WFS (Warranty Field Service) status. • Develop Data Integrity processes that support a goal of 100% BOM accuracy in Vantage BOM’s and Build-to-Order product BOM’s. • Develop & maintain a system that documents product configurations. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Core Functions: Solutions and Innovation (40%): Studiously work with all customers to understand the tooling requirements. Consistently conduct feasibility studies, cost analysis, and risk assessments to accurately inform appropriate stakeholders of tooling opportunities. Qualifications Technical Skills: -Proficient in Engineering principles and Foundry processes. -Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills at all levels of knowledge. -Proficient in 2D part print reading, 3D, GD&T, & PDM practices, including rigging and gating design, experience with solidification software. -Self-motivated with attention to detail, ability to multitask/prioritize and solutions-oriented -Defined knowledge of measurement techniques. Proficient in understanding tooling design safety and regulatory requirements Education & Experience: Required: -Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Tooling Design, Mechanical Engineering, or Metallurgy with experience with tooling design. -Or 5 – 7 years of experience in tooling design with foundry experience. We are a division of McWane Corportation with sister companies in the US and Canada.The Iowa Valve Company was established in Oskaloosa in 1909 by W W Corey and Herman W Read to build hydrants and valves. The original location of “THE VALVE” is the current Machine Shop location on South Second St. the original buildings are still part of that facility. The Eddy Valve Company was founded in 1849 by George Eddy in Waterford New York. In 1878 Clow was formed in Chicago as a jobber of wrought iron pipe and other foundry products. The company was then known as James B Clow and Sons. Clow acquired Eddy Valve in 1945 and Iowa Valve in 1947. These were operated separately at their original locations until 1970 when they were merged in Oskaloosa under Clow Corporation, Valve Division. The original South Second street facility housed all the operations of “THE VALVE”. This included a brass foundry, an iron foundry and the machine shop for machining and building of valves and hydrants. In 1967, demand had grown and the iron foundry was relocated and expanded to the southeast edge of Oskaloosa. When Eddy and Iowa were merged in Oskaloosa in 1970, the brass foundry was relocated to the iron foundry site on 17th Ave. East. In June 1985, McWane Incorporated purchased all the stock of Clow and Clow became a wholly owned subsidiary of McWane. Clow Valve Company, including Oskaloosa and Corona, was formed and is how we are known today. Today Clow Valve Company is a very well respected manufacturer of water works valves and fire hydrants. Clow manufactures 2” through 48” diameter Resilient Seated valves. Clow also manufactures dry and wet barrel fire hydrants. The Machine Shop and Metal Casting Facility utilize state of the art technology in both shops concerning safety, quality and production. The Clow Machine Shop has been ISO 9000 certified since 2002. Job Description Clow has an opening for a Machine Shop Maintenance Mechanic: 2nd Shift position Monday- Thursday 3pm-1am Starting Wage: $27.09; Qualified Rate: $27.75 Health insurance available after 60 days $1500 Sign on bonus after 120 day probationary period. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Repairing, maintaining, installing, lubricating, troubleshooting and adjusting machines and equipment. • Performing routine inspection on Machine Shop equipment. • Perform routine lubrication and cleaning of equipment. • Perform minor repairs on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment and machines. • Use of common hardware including: bolts, pipe fittings, etc. • Preventative maintenance of equipment and machinery. • Operate fork trucks, lifts, and conveyors. • Welding and minor fabrications. Qualifications Qualifications include but are not limited to: • Must pass onsite aptitude test • Heavy lifting/carrying greater than 40-50 pounds. • Overhead or above shoulder reaching required. • Twisting torso at waist. • Frequent bending, pushing, pulling, reaching & twisting up to 90 times per hour. • Standing & walking 8 to 10 hours per day. • Ability to move neck forward/back & turn right/left, kneel, squat, & climb using arms and legs. • Repetitive use of both hands & fingers to grasp, flex, extend, exert force, wear gloves, & utilize tools. • Frequent work in extreme temperature conditions inside & outside including but not limited to working on slippery, uneven, unstable surfaces. • Applicant must have 2-4 years verifiable maintenance mechanic experience, preferably in an industrial/ manufacturing setting. • Tech degree is a strong plus. • Ability to wear applicable PPE including: safety glasses, metatarsal guarded boots, hearing protection, respirators, welding mask, etc. • Ability to recognize and utilize all basic and portable power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
