Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description Job DescriptionSalary: POSITION OVERVIEW Alliance Automation has an immediate opening for a Senior Mechanical Engineer at our rapidly growing business in Van Wert, Ohio. The primary mission of this role is to design custom machinery and robotics equipment for the automotive, consumer goods, and food packaging industries. Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in pneumatics, electrical systems, and hydraulics. Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential, as you will be responsible for translating initial customer concepts into detailed 3D designs. Success in this role requires a high level of creativity and the ability to exercise independent judgment to develop functional designs that align with customer requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Concept, Design, Detail, and Release custom One-Off machinery. • Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theory and principles, statutory codes, and equipment requirements. • Design in accordance to OSHA, ANSI, and RIA standards related to safety and ergonomics. • Analyze mechanical drawings supplied by customers • Understands industrial and GD&T tolerances related to product design and assembly requirements • Ability to size and design mechanical and electromechanical components such as; chains, sprockets, belts, linear guides, cylinders, motors, servo motors, gearbox, etc. • Must be able to manage project timeline and project budget. • Must be able to collaborate with other engineers and production personnel in team environments to ensure the success of each project. • Must be able and willing to lead design teams and give direction to other engineers. Senior Mechanical Technician

Required Skills and Qualifications • A qualified candidate must possess technical or professional certification in Machining, including reading of drawings and blueprints, operation of lathe, milling, Welding, and drilling machines, and Electrical, including 3-phase wiring, single-phase wiring, industrial wiring, and/or completion of an appropriate apprenticeship program, and/or 3 years of relevant experience. Lead Product Engineer

Job Description The Lead Product Engineer utilizes advanced tools in problem solving and project management to solve technical issues. The Lead Product Engineer is responsible for providing product engineering support for existing Specialty Fluid Conveyance Products. This includes leading RPS, Technical Support, Cost Out, Product Dispositions, Product Reliability, Product Liability and Competitive Product Analysis. The Lead Engineer has demonstrated use of their unique skills, has a track record of multiple large-scale project successes, and has worked internationally (significant projects or physical location). Job Responsibilities Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. • Proficient application of core Engineering tools/principles, industry best practices and recognition for technical expertise • Demonstrate consistent use of advanced technical principles while mentoring other engineers • Demonstrate the use of problem-solving techniques • Clearly direct and aid in the development of cross functional team members • Determine the critical aspects to monitor and maintain throughout key project • Demonstrate effective communication with peers and management • Ability to layout multiple large-scale projects and drive them to closure with poise and self-reliance • Expert in designing products, developing test plans, analyzing test data against performance criteria, writing conclusive reports, and acting as technical and/or project leader between all functions of the organization • Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required to support project activities Background & Skills Required (basic) Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials or other Engineering from an accredited institution • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship • Must be within 50 miles of Van Wert, OH or Maumee Ohio facility.
