WHAT THIS ROLE DELIVERS The Plant Reliability Engineer provides support for the Rohm America Production Site in Bay City, Texas, Manufacturing Operation comprising the Formalin, MAL, MMA Reaction, and Purification plants, as well as Utilities. This role is responsible for maximizing the uptime of equipment and machinery in chemical plants. This will be accomplished through development and maintenance of an effective Preventative and Predictive Maintenance program. In addition the role will analysis failures to determine root cause and implement effective corrective and preventative actions to prevent reoccurring failures. This role will align closely with related functions within the organization. This position will be located at the Roehm Bay City, Texas, MMA manufacturing facility. WHAT YOU WILL DO • Decrease equipment failure losses to meet the operational reliability and asset utilization goals for the production site. • Develop and drive implementation of a customized reliability plan for each of the assigned production units. • Evaluate all plant equipment for criticality and develop risk based reliability strategy documents for plant equipment. • Utilize Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to perform effective problem analysis and root cause elimination on equipment downtime. • Lead projects and engage with stakeholders to influence outcomes and champion reliability tools. • Troubleshoot equipment for mechanical issues affecting reliability and work with Maintenance Engineering and Technicians to implement improvements. Equipment include, but is not limited to rotating equipment, pressure vessels, piping, and compressors. • Support inventory optimization for spare parts and equipment. • Initiate and manage MOCs. • Maintain Engineering drawings, policies & procedures, and other related site information as changes are implemented by the role. • Identify cost savings opportunities. • Develop and track key KPI's for maintenance reliability to assess manufacturing performance and identify process improvements. • Evaluate maintenance plans (PM's) and procedures for all critical equipment inspection tasks to identify gaps. • Other duties as assigned.
