We are currently looking for a Mechanical Specialist/ Sr. Mechanical Specialist for our Lafayette, Alexandria, or Monroe, LA office. POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for assisting in the inspection, repair, and overhaul of BWP reciprocating natural gas engines and compressors. Responsibilities include overhaul and maintenance of engines and compressors, auxiliary equipment, maintaining repair records, good housekeeping of assigned equipment and tools, promoting safety awareness to reduce hazards, and demonstrating and practicing a safe working environment. This position is required to work (5) 10-hour days and is subject to call out and schedule adjustments as necessary. Individual must be able to work throughout the Boardwalk system and must be flexible to travel as the schedule dictates. The successful candidate must reside near the Lafayette, Alexandria, Monroe, Louisiana areas. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: • Mechanical engine and compressor experience. • Ability to read micrometers and feeler gauges. • Mechanical troubleshooting knowledge. • Ability to work in hot, humid, noisy environments with extreme seasonal temps. • Ability to lift heavy tools and parts. • Ability to work in a team environment. • Basic computer skills • A strong work ethic with demonstrated initiative. • A strong commitment to personal and team safety. • A valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
