Mechanical Superintendent

Job Description SUMMARY - The Mechanical Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the mechanical maintenance department including safety, housekeeping, performance management of mechanical staff, maintenance budget, and preventative and predictive maintenance of all the mill mechanical equipment and systems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)- The Mechanical Superintendent's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead the mechanical maintenance organization, designing and implementing long-term continuous improvement applications & systems to enhance the longevity of the sites equipment based on best practices in the paper industry Manages planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive functions for mechanical maintenance Assist in selection, evaluation, and installation of capital and expense projects Work individually or with team members to develop scopes, estimates, and cost control Report to Engineering & Maintenance Manager any information that may impede the operation of the plant as soon as it becomes known Ensures the mechanical maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues Participates in objective setting and performance review of technicians Communicates directly with manufacturing department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in the production areas Assist production areas with troubleshooting and other assistance as needed Responsible for maintaining records associated with mechanical integrity Provide on-call and weekend duty coverage within a designated rotation Reviews the operation of plant equipment to minimize unplanned downtime and identify opportunities for improvement Ensures all regulations relating to mechanical maintenance are met at all times Additional duties may be assigned by management EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - The educational requirements are a four (4) year Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field or real world experience equivalent to the above mentioned educational background. LANGUAGE SKILLS - The candidate must speak and write English at a college level Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, P&ID's manuals, regulations, and codes Ability to write business reports and correspondence Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, contractors, and employees MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - The candidate must be able to understand and use simple conversions and algebraic formulas Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and volume Able to apply concepts of algebra and geometry along with basic math (adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing) REASONING ABILITY - The candidate must have the ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and chemical systems TECHNICAL SKILLS - Ability to gather information and perform root cause analysis and problem solving Ability to create reports for review by upper management Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Employee is regularly required to walk, talk, and hear Employee is frequently required to stand, climb ladders, bend and kneel The employee is occasionally required to sit The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus WORK ENVIRONMENT - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Inside Sales Fulfillment Team Member Job Description: As the Inside Sales Fulfillment Team Member, your job is to support the sales staff by making sure all invoices are accounted for and invoiced correctly, working with vendors when equipment is shipped short or damaged and keeping up with the startup of equipment.
