Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Mechanic will also provide excellent customer service, ensuring that clients are informed about the status of their repairs. Duties • Diagnose mechanical issues in vehicles and equipment using diagnostic tools and schematics. • Perform equipment repair, including brake repair and diesel engine repair. • Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles and machinery to ensure optimal performance. • Utilize power tools and other equipment safely and effectively during repairs. • Assist customers by providing clear explanations of necessary repairs and maintenance services. • Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed. • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks. • Adhere to safety protocols while working in the shop or field environments. Requirements • Proven experience in equipment repair, including familiarity with HVAC systems and forklift operations. • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients. • Proficiency in using power tools and understanding mechanical schematics. • Ability to perform soldering tasks as needed for electrical repairs. • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. • Must be able to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with mechanical work. • A valid driver's license is preferred; additional certifications related to mechanics are a plus. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Manages the drawing process with the assistance of a drafting team from approval through as-built. • Prepares original layout of building interiors and exteriors based on customer requirements and specifications, including generator set, switchgear motor controls, power control equipment, routing of conduit and electrical wiring and structural configuration of building. • Configures electrical systems and wiring, alarm systems and wiring and environmental control systems. • Designs mechanical and structural systems for assigned projects. • Specifies components and purchased parts. • Prepares AutoCAD drawings as necessary. • Enters and maintains current project information in Engineering Database. • Responsible for meeting established schedule and deadlines for his/her projects. • Assists project management personnel and answers questions related to projects. • Interacts with customers and outside engineering/architectural firms to answer questions and develop appropriate building configurations. • Communicates with and coordinates work performed by outside sub-contractors. • Assists Quality Control on minor quality issues. • Works with state approval requirements. • Monitors equipment installation requirements. • Interfaces with other Engineers and Designers for building design decisions. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS 1. BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required. 2. Three or more years’ experience as an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer preferred. 3. Experience in power generation/distribution a plus. 4. Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software required; Solid works preferred. 5. Excellent communication skills required. 6. Must be creative and a self-starter. 7. Highly motivated and able to work independently. 8. Strong planning, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required. 9. Must be a good listener and pay attention to detail. 10. Must be organized and possess an ability to handle multiple projects. 11. Ability to work effectively with other employees, managers and customers. Excellent interpersonal skills. 12.
