Mechanical Engineer

Job Description As an integral member of the Swiftships team, the Mechanical Engineer will oversee the coordination and administration of all aspects of mechanical engineering for both Military and Commercial Construction programs and/or Shipbuilding. Overall responsibilities, include but are not limited to researching, designing, developing, testing, or supervising the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use. The Mechanical Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Manager. Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To • Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks • Prepare technical drawings, specifications of mechanical systems and procedures to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements • Confer with engineers, customers, or others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products • Design, implement, maintain, or improve mechanical systems, equipment, facilities, components or products for commercial, industrial, or domestic purposes • Direct or coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements • Compile data and write reports regarding existing or potential mechanical engineering studies or projects • Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, or installation standards or specifications • Prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment • Estimate labor, material, or construction costs for budget preparation purposes • Supervise or train project team members as necessary Education/Experience • Degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university, or the equivalent of an engineering degree (registered PE, etc.) • Ability to use AutoCAD or similar systems • 6 – 10 years of engineering design experience is preferred • Previous shipbuilding experience • Previous systems and/or design engineering experience • Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services • Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models SOFT SKILL • Excellent communication skills • English Language: knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar Hard Skills • A qualified candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications • It is desired that the candidate be familiar with shipboard mechanical systems requirements found in ABS, USCG and USN documents. Workshop Technician - Mechanical / Hydraulics

Join our team as an onshore Workshop Technician and gain hands-on experience that will pave the way for advanced offshore opportunities, including working with Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs), Survey and Navigation, and Offshore Well Intervention and Controls! In this role, you will: • Assist with the maintenance, testing, and preparation of ROV systems, Sub Sea tooling, Survey and Navigation systems, Well Intervention and Controls equipment in our Morgan City workshop. • Develop your technical skills in mechanical, electrical, electronic, and hydraulic systems. • Contribute to ensuring operational excellence by ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standards. As you progress, you will have the opportunity to troubleshoot and repair these complex systems in challenging environments and further your career as an offshore Subsea Technician in the future. Duties And Responsibilities ESSENTIAL: • Carry out maintenance, (mobilization, demobilization, periodic and in-storage) and refurbishment activities on company owned equipment. • Ensure that all work is performed to conform to company operating and maintenance standards and in accordance with all current legislation. • Update equipment maintenance systems to record details of all repairs and maintenance of company owned equipment. • Assist with preparation and mobilization of ROV systems and/ or associated tooling packages. • Participate in daily toolbox talks for workshop group. • Participate in observation system and conduct STOP audits on a regular basis. • Participate in safety training courses and initiatives. • Ensure that all tasks are performed using correct procedures. • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company HSE requirements prior to starting and during operations. • Participate in creation of Risk Assessments and JSEA. • Participate in QHSE initiatives such as continuous improvement implementation and monitoring. • Adopt and promote 5S and lean principles. • Assist with any other duties as and when required. NON-ESSENTIAL: • Participate in the company competence scheme to allow progression through company career framework. • If required, travel overseas to provide onsite technical support. • If required, attend project kick-off meetings to provide technical support. Qualifications REQUIRED: • Technical Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Hydraulic systems or related field OR 1+ years experience in hydraulics, mechanics, mechatronics, communications/computer networking, subsea tooling, and control systems. DESIRED: • Associates degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Hydraulic systems. • Working knowledge of subsea and surface equipment such as ROV systems, IWOCS, Workover Systems and Tooling packages. • Knowledge of subsea controls and operations. • Knowledge of Manifold, Umbilical and Subsea XT installation operations. • Forklift Truck certification. • Overhead crane certification. Offshore Project Engineer

The Opportunity: As an Offshore Project Engineer on board our rock installation vessel Acadia you will be assisting the Offshore Construction Manager (OCM) with leading the installation team on the bridge during the day or night shift, and you will report to the OCM when assigned onboard the vessel. Your primary goal is to ensure the team performs the installation of rock accurately according to the design, and efficiently according to the schedule. You will implement approved procedures to ensure safe execution of the work. The work schedule is 4 weeks onboard the vessel followed by 4 weeks time off.
