Design Engineer II - Manufacturing

Job Summary The Design Engineer II plays a critical role in driving innovation and executing the product development strategy for the Client. This position is responsible for leading key phases of the design lifecycle — including ideation, prototyping, validation, and production handoff — to transform new product ideas into commercially viable solutions. The role directly supports the Client’s long-term product roadmap and collaborates across departments to ensure new and existing products are informed by consumer insights, material research, cost analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Conduct research and gather consumer insights to inform new product concepts • Develop 3D models, 2D drawings, drafts, and conceptual imagery • Create and support product documentation, procedures, and revision histories for both new and legacy products • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements including cost targets, production volume, and performance/aesthetic criteria • Lead specific handoff activities between Innovation & Development (I+D) and Production, including: – Internal transitions to Client Manufacturing – Transitions to external manufacturing partners – Part development for external suppliers • Partner with Quality Engineering to develop and validate test procedures and product performance criteria • Ensure structural integrity and manufacturing optimization during design of new products • Review and iterate prototypes to ensure design intent is maintained throughout development • Evaluate legacy products to identify improvement, optimization, and cost reduction opportunities • Support Manufacturing Engineering during quality control and pilot production to ensure product integrity • Assist in the creation of Work Instructions and coordinate handoff from I+D to Production • Collaborate with Marketing on development of Assembly Instructions and customer-facing materials • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Production personnel to understand product functionality and recommend improvements • Work alongside Purchasing/Supply Chain to provide accurate specifications to external vendors Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or closely related technical field • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment • Proficiency in 2D drafting, 3D CAD, and FEA — SolidWorks preferred • Proven ability to carry concepts through to final manufacturing execution • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience developing mechanical components • Effective project management abilities • Self-directed, collaborative problem solver with a positive, team-oriented mindset

Mechanical Engineer

Description We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who can deliver detailed analytical concepts and then back up those concepts with written justification. The Mechanical Engineer will act as a mentor to the Junior Engineers on staff and create a work environment that is conducive to teamwork and strong professional development. The successful candidate for this position will be able to take a project from the conceptual stage through to completion, taking into account budgeting and operational considerations. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform initial and ongoing design reviews. • Deliver documentation offering a critical analysis and suggestions for correcting errors. • Identify process deficiencies and develop solutions to improve those deficiencies. • Submit a scope of work for each project that includes budgetary numbers and the goal of each project. • Develop CAD project drawings and review drawings from junior team members for accuracy. • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop an accurate accounting of all engineering hours required or various types of internal projects. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • Ability to perform root cause analysis and apply systematic problem-solving skills. • Self-motivated, team player with the ability to contribute to increase productivity, quality and throughput. • Proven work experience in process engineering. Preferably rubber molding, calendaring, and rubber to metal bonding • Excellent technical skills • Familiarity with health and safety regulations • Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering • Minimum of two years related experience desired • MUST BE A US CITIZEN
