What You’ll Be Doing • Interpret and analyze general design requirements provided by engineers, including piping and instrumentation diagrams, piping specifications, stress analysis recommendations, and equipment requirements. • Use theoretical and practical design knowledge of the oil and gas industry to design CAD 3D models for mechanical equipment and piping systems. • Review vendor equipment drawing packages and provide comments. • Obtain accurate field data using 3D scanning or manual measurement methods. • Manipulate point cloud data to generate as-built 3D models. • Produce quality, constructible drawing packages per the project scope, including site plans, location plans, piping plans, sections and details, piping isometrics, pipe support details and tie-in details, where applicable. • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, client and company design and drafting standards, and industry-accepted guidelines and best practices. • Perform quality control checks of the work of other designers and drafters. • Mentor and advise less-experienced designers and drafters. • Plan and supervise work for designers and other drafting personnel. • Communicate and work closely with other disciplines with minimal supervision. What You Need To Have • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Two-year drafting, design, or industry-related technical degree from an accredited university or trade school preferred. • 10+ years of experience in drafting, 3D modeling and piping design required. • 5+ years of experience in oil and gas industry preferred. • Strong communication and organization skills. • Proficiency with AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant and ISOGEN. • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
