HVAC/R Service Technician

Position Overview We are currently looking for a skilled HVAC/R Service Technician to provide preventive maintenance and responsive repair services for a variety of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems. This role offers the chance to work across diverse facilities, including schools, universities, office buildings, hospitals, and manufacturing sites. Key Responsibilities • Diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems including RTUs, AHUs, VRF, VAV, and chillers. • Perform routine preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and improve system performance. • Troubleshoot and repair air-cooled, water-cooled, centrifugal, and screw chillers. • Manage refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and charging in compliance with EPA guidelines. • Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals to diagnose faults and recommend effective solutions. • Maintain clear communication with dispatch, supervisors, and clients regarding service outcomes and necessary follow-up actions. • Utilize digital work order systems to maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent. • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company procedures on job sites. • Stay up-to-date with ongoing product training and emerging HVAC/R technologies. Key Qualifications • Associate degree in HVAC/R technology or a related technical field. • Completion of factory training on commercial HVAC/R equipment is preferred. • Mandatory EPA 608 Certification (Universal). • At least 8 years of experience in servicing and troubleshooting commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. • Strong hands-on experience with air-cooled, centrifugal, and screw chillers. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation effectively. • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach. Respond to emergency situations and perform any and all tasks necessary for the protection of occupants and property. • Under minimal supervision, perform Facilities or mission critical environment maintenance activities. • Operate and maintain critical systems such as HVAC, CRAC units, life safety and building automated systems, and utility systems. HVAC Mechanic

About the Role: Complete Building Services is looking to add an HVAC Mechanic's to our facility team. We are supporting a large government building in the heart of DC as supplemental staff. Our team is focused on equipment upkeep, troubleshooting, and minor repair. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday. The shift will be from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. Salary $45-$50 per hour dependent on experience. Parking provided.
