Journeyman Electrician

Duties • Install, maintain, and repair solar systems in commercial and residential environments. • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of solar systems. • Working aloft in construction environments. • Utilize power tools, hand tools, and multimeters to complete tasks effectively. • Troubleshoot solar issues using diagnostic equipment. • Supervise and mentor apprentice electricians on construction sites to ensure adherence to safety standards. • Conduct regular inspections of solar systems to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety regulations. • Collaborate with project manager in office/construction sites to coordinate work scope and project timelines. Qualifications/Experience: • Electrical and/or Solar: 2+ years (Required) • TDLR Journeyman Electrical License or the ability to transfer license to the equivalent from out of state. • Proven experience as electrician, preferably in both commercial & residential settings. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations. • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring drawings. • Familiarity with various power tools and hand tools used in the electrical trade. • Experience working in the solar industry is a plus. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team on construction sites. • High School Diploma/GED preferred. • Valid Texas DL is required. • Medium Voltage Cabling Terminations is a plus (not required). • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment associated with the electrical trade. • Familiarity with safety rules, OSHA, and first aid procedures. • We maintain a drug-free workplace. Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background investigation and drug test as a condition of employment. Physical requirements and environment: • Works with MC cable installation and terminations. • Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. • Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. • Follows drawings to determine the location of wiring and equipment and ensures conformance to building and safety codes. • Uses a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment. • Installs ground leads and connects power cables to equipment. • Represents the company to meet contractual requirements. • Ensures SAFETY requirements must be met. • Follows any other job-related duties/functions requested by the supervisor. • Operates and has general knowledge of equipment, Mini Ex, Skid steer. • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected. • Complies with Company Policies & Procedures. • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude. • Available for overtime on a weekly basis. • Occasionally: Crouching, kneeling, pinching, sitting, and stooping are required. Frequently: Carrying pulling, pushing and lifting 30-50lbs, climbing, grasping, gripping, handling, reaching, standing and walking are required. • Constantly: Reading, hearing, vision, and repetitive motions are required.
