Summary We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team at Voluntary Purchasing Groups, Inc. located in Bonham, Texas. Our ideal candidate will be adept in performing electrical installations, maintenance and repairs in plant facilities; knowledgeable in all areas of the national electrical code; and excel at analyzing and solving problems with various electrical controls and systems. This position is not exclusive to electrical jobs; you will need to be willing to perform any general maintenance duties as well. This is normally a 10-hour shift Monday - Friday. Responsibilities • Attendance in alignment with our company attendance policy. • Certified Journeyman, or in process of getting License with commercial and residential experience. • Great attitude and willingness to work as part of a supportive team. • You must possess a high level of accountability and attention to detail. • Ability to ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instruction, and engineering specification; trouble shooting malfunctions. • Ability to locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. • Must have the knowledge and ability for removal and reinstallation of defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges. • Control down time by informing production workers on routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders: verifying receipt. • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Qualifications • Valid Journeyman Electrician license, or in process of attaining one. • Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician. • Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and high voltage systems, is a nice to have but not necessary. • Familiarity with low voltage systems and construction site practices. • Ability to read blueprints and schematics effectively. • Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely. • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment. 22. Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments. 23. Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using rulers, measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threader, and conduit bender. 24. Repair or recommend replacement of electrical appliances, including commercial ovens, ranges, steam tables, washers, dryers, etc. 25. Receive and complete work orders. 28. Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates. 26. Maintain accurate records on material and labor used. 30. Maintain inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and materials. 27. Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean. 32.
