Apprentice/ journeyman electrician

Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyperson Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and construction environments. Your expertise will ensure that electrical infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Duties • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including low voltage and high voltage wiring on construction sites and existing facilities. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and electrical schematics to accurately execute projects. • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete wiring tasks, conduit bending, panel installation, and other electrical work. • Test electrical circuits using instruments such as ohmmeters and multimeters to diagnose issues accurately. • Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation systems. • Work with schematics and technical manuals to ensure precise installation and maintenance of electrical components. • Perform renovation work on existing electrical systems while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. • Collaborate with construction teams including frame carpenters and general contractors during new builds or renovations. • Conduct low voltage wiring for security systems, fire alarms, data networks, and other specialized systems. • Ensure all work complies with safety standards including OSHA regulations and local electrical codes. • Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, upgrades, and system modifications for project documentation. • Assist with maintenance person tasks related to electrical needs such as fixture replacements or minor repairs on construction sites or facilities. Qualifications • Valid Journeyperson Electrician license or certification recognized by relevant authorities. • Extensive experience working as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician in construction or renovation environments. • Strong understanding of NEC standards, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and wiring diagrams. • Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, pliers), power tools (e.g., drills), and testing instruments like ohmmeters. • Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in industrial settings is highly desirable. • Knowledge of low voltage systems including security alarms, fire alarms, data cabling, and other specialized wiring. • Ability to work safely at heights or in confined spaces on construction sites or within existing facilities. • Familiarity with high voltage systems is a plus but must be handled with strict safety protocols. • Construction site experience demonstrating adaptability in fast-paced environments. • Skilled in blueprint reading and interpreting technical schematics for accurate installation work. • Maintenance Person experience beneficial for minor repairs or troubleshooting beyond core electrical tasks. The Senior QAQC manager reports directly to the Director and VP. This is a client-facing role that demands a leader with the ability to build strong relationships, both in and out of the office, while focusing on delivering quality in alignment with our core values to every client. Essential Job Functions Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Ensure full utilization of existing tools and programs to follow policies and procedures pertaining to projects and work evolutions managed by Miller Electric to provide overall quality control, operational excellence for project and maintenance work evolutions. • Facilitate meetings with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful deployment of QAQC initiatives across existing and new facilities • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits of electrical installations and systems to identify and resolve any non-conformances and train others to do the same • Engage in and lead project walk-throughs to support QAQC and commissioning planning and execution. • Collaborate between project management team, engineers, manufacturers, owners, and contractors to establish quality requirements for projects and maintenance • Build long-term relationships with both clients and fellow employees by consistently meeting expectations and offering innovative solutions. • Create QAQC documentation plans and execution strategy for site implementation. • Engage and cultivate opportunities for expanding preventative maintenance and NFPA 70B initiatives for existing clients or projects and identify new opportunities. • Actively interfacing with project and maintenance teams to validate QAQC and commissioning expectations are understood and met before, during, and after project completion • Provide continuous improvement, operational excellence program improvements and standardization to include root cause analysis for quality incidents, QAQC and commissioning planning and execution • Facilitate QAQC training for all project and maintenance team members and provide detailed on site training for personnel responsible for managing and executing QAQC and commissioning plans • Develop plans for QAQC and testing equipment maintenance, calibration, storage, and check out processes • Develop QAQC templates and folder structures in coordination with the project management and field leadership teams • Frequent project visits with field supervision and other personnel to understand progress, needs, or issues and provide hands-on training to QAQC personnel • Provide consistent feedback and reports to upstream stakeholders • Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and honing skills and competencies to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity • Proactively lead the team job site safety and adherence to company policies and national safety standards for personnel under his or her supervision.
