Maintenance Electrician

Our client, a global leader in transportation solutions, is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join their team. This position supports the Operations department, focusing on electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial equipment. What’s the Job? • Diagnose and repair electrical components on automated and manual production equipment. • Troubleshoot and replace malfunctioning facility equipment (e.g., transformers, motors, lighting systems). • Install and terminate wiring for power supplies, data cables, and other electrical connections. • Work with PLC applications (e.g., Rockwell RSLogix, Siemens software) for equipment diagnostics. • Manipulate automated equipment via HMI, remote control, and teach pendant for troubleshooting. • Assist in planning and installing building wiring, conduit systems, and electrical equipment. • Perform repairs on electric motors and motion control devices, including multi-axis robots (ABB). What’s Needed? • 3 - 5 years of industrial electrician experience in a manufacturing environment. • High School Diploma or GED (Technical School training preferred). • Proficiency in handling voltages up to 600 VAC (including 480 VAC and 277 VAC). • Knowledge of 12 VAC and 24 VDC control systems. • Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC). • Experience with motor controls, drives, and multi-axis robots. • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain safety compliance. Electrician Journeyman (NO Per Diem)

SUMMARY Plan, layout, install, and repair wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES • Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints insuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring. • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules and conduit benders. • Pulls wiring through conduit, assisted by helper. • Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads with knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps. • Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools. - Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools. • Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads. • Test continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope. • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. • Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems. • Load, transport and unload material, tools, equipment and supplies. • Maintains tools and equipment. • Be able to distinguish colors. • Knowledge of certain procedures such as LOTO, etc. • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS • May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
