Summary: The main function of an electrician is to install maintain and repair electrical wiring equipment and fixtures. A typical electrician is responsible for inspecting testing maintaining or repairing electrical equipment. Job Responsibilities: • Measure cut and bend wired and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools. • Maintain tools vehicles and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order. • Perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment. • Disassemble defective electrical equipment replace defective or worn parts and reassemble equipment using hand tools. • Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections using hand tools. Skills: • Interpersonal skills attention to detail and problem solving skills. • Basic ability to work independently and manage oneas time. • Basic knowledge of machines and tools including their designs uses repair and maintenance. • Basic knowledge of design techniques tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans blueprints drawings and models.
