ROLE OVERVIEW: Knowledgeable of the maintenance programs, repair/modify existing equipment/instrumentation, and install new equipment/instrumentation. Key Responsibilities: Ability to install, maintain and troubleshoot industrial control systems, including instrumentation and power distribution. Performs PLC programming, troubleshooting and program documentation. A strong understanding of our equipment and the systems and processes. The ability to quickly troubleshoot, diagnose and solve electrical and process control issues is crucial. Maintain effective communication with team members, other departments and management to report on progress, issues and resource requirement needs. Ability to handle unexpected issues and adapt to changing circumstances is vital in day-to-day mill needs. Work within a team environment to efficiently prioritize and complete tasks to minimize downtime. Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the maintenance department. A commitment to ongoing learning and process improvement. Work Duties include execution of electrical and controls repair duties. Repairing and replacing process control and electrical equipment (valves, transmitters, communication networks, DCS, wiring medium and low voltage, running conduit, etc.). Familiar with the National Electric Code Safety, OSHA electrical safety. Trained in Mill Electrical Safety Work Practices, electrical safety requirements and procedures, as well as Arc Flash safety equipment and procedures. Adheres to all plant safety policies. Participates in plant-wide safety, housekeeping, Operational Excellence, and Lean Manufacturing programs. Performs other duties as assigned. Ensures reliability of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance on machinery and systems. Performs tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of equipment. Reads and interprets equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Uses hand tools and measuring instruments to determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hand and power tools. Adheres to all plant safety policies. Participates in plant-wide safety, housekeeping, Operational Excellence, and Lean Manufacturing programs. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years electrical experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Associates Degree in the Electrical field preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrates ability to operate machines, hand-tools and electrical equipment. Possesses an operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Demonstrates ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and work orders. Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills with practical, mechanical, and electrical aptitude. Possesses basic troubleshooting experience and proven skills in machine repair. Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to follow directions and work well in a team. Welding, machining and fabrication experience a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software.

Electrical Journeyman (Greer, SC - MGR)

Job Description GreenWood, Inc. is now actively recruiting applicants for our Electrical Journeyman position. We are looking for applicants who are interested in a Regular Full-Time, Non-Exempt position at the Mitsubishi site in Greer, SC. Employees normally work Monday through Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm, 40 hours per week and occasional overtime as needed. We are currently looking for an applicant who is interested in a position without the need to travel. GreenWood does not offer per diem at this job site. The Electrical Journeyman is responsible for installation, monitoring and repairing the electrical systems of the organization. Position Responsibilities - Essential • Plans, layout, installs, and repairs wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment • Follows sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules, and conduit benders • Pulls wiring through conduit • Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads with knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps • Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools. • Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools • Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement • Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems • Loads, transports and unloads material, tools, equipment, and supplies • Maintains tools and equipment • Wears personal protective equipment and uses safety equipment as required • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules • Rates information using personal judgment or standards that can be measured or checked • Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities • Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position. There is no required license, but certified Electricians are preferred. Requirements: • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, maintain or alter electrical services, equipment and controls, using approved and properly sized wire, conduit, raceways and equipment.
