Electrician

Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Job Summary Repairs and maintains electrical systems, motor control centers, panel boards, and other electrical and mechanical equipment. Essential Functions • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. • Tests and maintains the emergency generators and emergency power systems on a weekly basis and documents all test results. • Repairs and maintains fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems. • Performs scheduled tests to comply with JCAHO, DHEC, and other standards. Attends training to achieve 90% attendance as required by JCAHO. • Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and records appropriately. Detects repairs necessary, implements repair request and recommends PM frequency changes, additions, deletions to PM schedule. • Repairs nurse call systems, surgical lights, automatic door controls, and food service equipment. • Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completed circuits according to diagram specifications. • Maintains, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments. • Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. What You’ll Need • Basic construction skills and understanding of system plans. • Basic ability to read and understand blueprints, design drawings including wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, and cable support installation (J-Hook, Raceway, Conduit, Cable Support). • Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper) and ability to read blueprints and drawings; solid math skills (for some positions, this may include calculating area, velocity, resistance, voltage, etc.).
