Job Description Get Involved! Samaritan's Purse is seeking an Electrician to join our team in North Wilkesboro, N.C. You can be a part of a highly professional Facilities team. As an Electrician, you will perform hands-on diagnoses and repair of electrical systems, install electrical components, and operate building generators and UPS systems. You will serve as point of contact for outside electrical vendors as needed and will assist Facilities team with building and grounds maintenance. Come and use your gifts daily to advance the Gospel! In the role of Electrician, you will have the opportunity to: Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Jesus Christ Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance, and operate building generators and UPS systems. Install or oversee the installation of new electrical systems. Perform and oversee quarterly inspections and preventive maintenance of equipment, and log scheduled inspection reports as required. Report any deficiencies or concerns to Director of Facilities. Maintain and repair other facilities technical equipment including programmable light systems, energy management systems, building generators, and UPS systems. Makes recommendations on equipment purchases and energy-savings strategies. Assist Maintenance Manager with inventory start-up and monitor inventory to facilitate prompt repairs and maintenance of electrical equipment. Assist other Facilities staff with facilities and ground maintenance, including snow removal. Contribute up to date maintenance and repair data tracked by Facility Maintenance software including utilization of existing Work Order system. Keep accurate records for maintenance and preventative maintenance programs. Review daily work lists with the Maintenance Manager at the end of each workday and provide routine communications throughout the day. Develop and improve skills in all aspects of electrical and building maintenance through participation in approved training sessions. Maintain a good driving record and a valid North Carolina CDL Drivers License that includes Passenger and other applicable endorsements. Maintain a safe work environment. Perform all work in a safe manner and follows all associated safety guidelines. Principal Duties And Responsibilities • To accurately read and study blueprints, drawings, specifications and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of installations and/or repairs to ensure quality. • Use hand tools required to perform the job but not limited to; hammers, drills, saws, screw guns, metal shears, utility knives, framing square and edging tools. • Install, repair, maintain motors, lights, circuits, wiring and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards and regulations. • Operates a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining types of electrical malfunctions. • Must be willing to participate in cross functional teams for Continuous Improvement. • Measure, cut and bends wire and conduit using ruler and hand tools. • Drills holes for wiring and pulls or pushes wiring through openings. • Complete inspections and conduct repairs if needed. • Work on ladders or heights of building structure using proper fall equipment is necessary.
