Responsibilities: The Master Electrician is responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of all electrical systems, including systems additions or modifications on a variety of plant equipment and facilities. They will be responsible for working on all electrical systems that 480 volts and below at the Hillsdale location. Duties and Responsibilities: • Install and monitor performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments or replacements. • Create, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment in the plant. • Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using appropriate testing equipment and tools. This may include control hardware, including PLC’s and HMI’s. • Partner with machine operators on equipment troubleshooting automation needs to increase efficiency. • Read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints. • Fabricate/weld parts as needed. • Leads, trains and/or guides other electricians or qualified maintenance personnel in applicable procedures and techniques. • Perform building, routine and preventative maintenance, including repairs to facility equipment – mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic and/or hydraulic. • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of both equipment and supplies. • Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. • Performs other jobs duties as required. Qualifications: Education and Experience Required: • High school diploma or GED. • Possession of a current State of Michigan Master Electrician certification, and maintain certification as required. • Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and 5S (including Kaizen and Gemba). Physical Requirements: Qualified applicants must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds • Must be able to work in hot, humid and/or cold manufacturing environments • Must be able to crouch, kneel and stoop for prolonged periods of time • Must be able to climb ladders as needed
