The City of Battle Creek's Wastewater Treatment Plant is looking for a licenses journeyman to perform work handling routine and complex electrical troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair; related work as apparent or assigned. Work performed under the limited supervision of the Foreman II. • Install, maintain, and repair a wide variety of electrical equipment and devices. Install, maintain, and repair motors; controls; electrical wiring; and components up to 5,000 volts, single and three phases. Troubleshoot electrical problems. Perform simple and complex electrical and electronic tests. Select electrical components and design simple electrical circuits. • Maintain records and prepare written reports and recommendations on electrical equipment and controls. Coordinate and train other employees in electrical systems and component operation, repair, and maintenance work. • Perform troubleshooting tasks on electronic controls and components. Install and maintain electronic devices. Perform complex troubleshooting tasks on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and combined motor control and alarm systems. Troubleshoot, maintain, install, and repair variable speed motor controllers and Programmable Logic Controllers. • Coordinate and train other employees in electrical systems and component operation, repair, and maintenance work. • High school diploma or GED equivalency. • Possess State of Michigan Journeyman Electricians License upon hire. • Valid driver's license in the State of Michigan. Special Requirements: • Complete Electrical ARC Flash Safety Training within 6 months of hire. • Valid driver's license in the State of Michigan. Airport Ops Electrician - Full-time

About the Department The City of Battle Creek's Executive Airport is looking for a journeyman electrician to maintain electrical equipment, assist with operations and maintenance tasks, construction, upkeep, and repair duties for airport grounds and facilities; related work as apparent or assigned. Work performed under the limited supervision of the Airport Operations Manager. The current vacancy shall be temporary in nature. However, if future circumstances lead to the position remaining vacant, then this temporary position will become permanent. Position Duties • Maintains, operates and repairs the airfield lighting system, including runways, taxiways, guidance sign system, rotating beacon, and navigational aids; operates and monitors the pc based airfield lighting control systems. • Inspects, maintains, operates and repairs electrical components, transformers, motors, panels, circuits, switch gears, electrical panels, electrical wiring, single and three phase, 120, 480, and 2,400 volt AC circuits and high voltage light system. • Participates in snow removal and ice control monitoring and removal activities. Operates power driven heavy and field equipment and small tools to maintain grounds and facilities including herbicide application, landscaping, welding, grading, earth work and clearing drainage waterways. • Performs visual inspections, routine maintenance, and manual labor in maintaining all airport runways, taxiways, safety areas, grounds, fences, drainage, facilities, gates, pavement, lighting, and fixed structures; Monitors environmental conditions, wildlife conditions and hazardous materials and provides appropriate response.
