Electrical Field Technician

An exciting opportunity has become available within our organization for a field service technician with possibility of promotion for qualified candidates. Your responsibilities: Following an in-depth training period, you will be required to work independently to carry out commissioning and service work on our optoelectronic measuring systems. This involves traveling to high profile customers in the US and abroad (80%). Providing training to customers is a key element of the job and will require good communication skills. Your profile: - Willingness to travel within the Americas including Canada. Will typically travel to the worksite on Mondays and travel home on Fridays. Travel is by car and air. - Familiarity with safety measures taken in industrial plants. - Mechanical skills that include experience with basic hand-held tools. - Experience with industrial electrical systems, electronics or electrical engineering. - Computer hardware knowledge including networking and comfort configuring customer-side PC/HMI interfaces - Good computer software knowledge with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and Word. - Fluency in English is required, Spanish or other language skills a bonus. - Great customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director. • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time. • You must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.) • Must be clean, shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment, when required.
