Electrician

$90000 - $120000 / year with incentives including monthly production bonus, shift premiums, and scheduled overtime. Gerdau is looking for an experienced Electrician to undertake a variety of tasks related to the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment. This would include but is not limited to communication systems, various mill and production equipment, electronic computing and controls systems, power and distribution control devices, gauges, and instrumentation. Duties & Responsibilities Analyze all types of circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings as required to install and maintain electrical and electronic devices and systems. Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or replace faulty parts and wiring on all types of equipment. Perform inspection and repairs on all electric brakes including those used on cranes. Perform preventive maintenance on electrical, instrument, controls devices and equipment. Start up and shut down various types of plant equipment. Document all work performed on Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS.) Perform all other plant electrical maintenance as required. This person should be familiar with: Motor Controls –maintain, troubleshoot, and replace starters and VFD’s or DC drives. Programmable logic controllers - read schematics and use PLC indication lights to find which I/O is present. Communication Systems – install new and make repairs to existing communication systems. Run and hook up communication cabling (Profibus, ControlNet, RS232, R-Net, Dec-Net, Ether-Net, PLC remote drops, etc.). Requirements: Must have a completed high school diploma or GED. 1 year electrical experience with Electrical Journeyman's Card OR 4 year’s electrical experience without Journeyman’s Card. Electronic & Electrical Controls Engineering Manager

POSITION SUMMARY This position is to provide leadership, direction and support to all activities and functions relating to Electrical – Controls Engineering including Advanced Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Processes and Plant Operations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Perform a variety of technical/engineering work in designing and overseeing the manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of electronic or electrical components. • Plans, conducts and directs research, development of manufacturing assignments; participates in larger projects of major magnitude and scope or more than one project. • Operates with considerable latitude for un-reviewed action or decision. • Recommends changes in procedures. • Prepare proposals and cost estimates for future work. • Assist in assessing/troubleshooting press and equipment problems. • Schedules work to meet completion dates and technical specifications for projects. • Reviews progress and evaluates results. • Acts as liaison with other departments, divisions, and organizations. • Reviews and approves controls designs for special machines. • Provides control engineering expertise to Midway's manufacturing plants as directed/requested. • Develops controls packages for metal processing equipment (presses, feed lines, etc.) • Maintains thorough familiarity with controls developments and new technologies in the industry. • Participates in Design Reviews, TSRO’s and HLRO’s. • Participates in the purchase of presses, coil lines, cranes, compressors and other capital assets. • Work in partnership with the Manufacturing Engineering Department to significantly improve the tooling, equipment and processes delivered to our plants. • Work in partnership with the plants to improve the overall operating performance of our plants, through the identification and implementation of concepts/ideas that improve the overall operational performance of our plants and meet throughput commitments. • Reduce the start-up, launch, tryout (debug) time and cost of new tooling, equipment and process installation into our plants. • Drive new tooling and equipment to operate at our quoted or MOS throughput rate, whichever is greater. • Performs other related duties as assigned by management. JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS • Preferred graduate in Electrical Engineering with five years’ experience. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Mechanically and electrically inclined, and able to use ingenuity and imagination to invasively solve engineering and manufacturing problems. • Programming of vision inspection systems, PLC, resistance welding, robotics, HMI and servo motion control knowledge required. • Working knowledge of industrial communications, including but not limited to: Ethernet, Device Net, Control Net, ProfiBus to name a few. • Full understanding of Mechanical Power, Presses, Transfer Presses and their associated equipment. • Full understanding of Industrial Electrical Power Distribution Systems. • Working knowledge of Hydroforming and associated processes. POSITION SUMMARY • Provide electrical controls and programming direction and support on capital, facilities and equipment projects and support throughout the design, installation, startup and launch process. • Provide electrical controls and programming direction and support throughout the tooling design, build, tryout and launch process. • Provide support necessary to achieve daily production goals and technical support for all Midway Products Group facilities.
