Electrician/ Maintenance Tech - 1st shift

Spray-Tek is an industry leader providing custom spray drying services to leading companies in the world's most quality-conscious industries. In face of new projects and acquisitions, we are searching for a Electrician/Maintenance Technician to join our team in the Beloit, WI facility. Role: Electrician/Maintenance Technician (Full Time) This position is responsible for electro-mechanical maintenance duties in a batching and drying SQF 3 processing facility. Maintains all equipment and support systems through preventative maintenance and breakdown support, including but not limited to pumps, valves, pneumatic systems, electrical devices (sensors, PLCs, VFDs), conveyors, motors, boilers, refrigeration, utilities, small improvement projects, and minor building/grounds work. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm and occasional weekends when needed. Responsibilities: • This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position. • Ensures operation of mechanical and electrical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on food processing systems, motors, conveyor systems, and production equipment; follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions. • Maintain mechanical and electrical systems, including but not limited to refrigeration, boilers, air systems, and wastewater systems. • Locates sources of problems by observing equipment in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments when needed to repair or verify equipment setup. • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, hand, and power tools; examining equipment for wear and damage. • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, straight edges etc. • Performs routine maintenance of building and grounds. • Communicate with management on day-to-day maintenance issues • Controls downtime by informing production workers and managers of necessary preventive maintenance tasks; monitors compliance. • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. • Provides maintenance information by answering questions and requests. • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, establishing personal networks. • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. • Successfully complete assigned maintenance tasks in allotted time. • Follow all OSHA safety regulations and procedures • Understand and comply with company, industry, state, and federal regulations Required Skills/Experience: • Valid Electrical License (Required) — Must hold a current state-issued electrical license or equivalent certification authorizing work on industrial electrical systems. • Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance or technical service within a spray drying, food processing, or chemical manufacturing environment. • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including: • Troubleshooting and repairing 480V 3-phase motors, VFDs, and control circuits • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, PLC wiring diagrams, and control logic • Performing lockout/tagout (LOTO) and arc flash safety procedures • Familiarity with PLC-based automation systems and ability to assist with control logic troubleshooting. • Proficiency in mechanical maintenance, including pumps, valves, conveyors, and spray dryer components. • Experience with preventive maintenance programs, root cause analysis, and CMMS systems. • Ability to work safely in high-temperature and high-humidity environments typical of spray drying facilities. • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams. • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional nights or weekends, as needed. • Mechanically inclined, maintenance background in an industrial setting. • Ability to weld and fabricate metal • Industrial electrical knowledge and experience (working with PLCs, VFDs, sensors). • Knowledge of basic chemical usage and safety • Ability to operate power tools and equipment safely • Ability to operate forklifts, tractors, trucks, and lifts • Ability to work on a fast-paced environment • Ability to work in high elevations • Ability to read, understand and effectively communicate information through writing and speaking so others will understand • Attention to detail • Independent Self Starter/Team Player • Mathematical skills: General Arithmetic/Basic algebra/Percentages/Fractions • Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet explorer • Advanced English: fluent: speaking, reading, and writing Universal Expectations: • Follow all Safety and Bio-Security Procedures • Ensure that all care is provided with respect to customer, client and co-workers’ rights • Ensure a safe and clean work environment • Maintain confidentiality. • Adhere to work schedules in completing and performing assigned tasks • A trained designee will be appointed by plant management to cover for absences or vacancies. • Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the HACCP system. • Reports and takes any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring. • Follows and enforces procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the HACCP, Regulatory, and other 3rdparty audits. Senior Area Electrical Engineer

Principal Responsibilities: • Provide technical, troubleshooting and maintenance support to all ASU, CO2, H2 and He plants within the fleet for all electrical issues, including 138kV substations, High/Medium/Low voltage switchgear, Motor Control Centers, Variable Frequency Drives, Battery & UPS system, DCS & PLC Controls, large motors up to 35,000HP. Excitation controls, and reduced voltage motor starting equipment. • Support the Regions with the development of the detailed electrical major maintenance work scope, budget, contractor selection, execution strategy. • Identify new and assess the effectiveness of existing electrically related condition-based monitoring (CBM) tools, techniques and practices. Review electrically related CBM and reliability reports and data and agree specific actions, as indicated, with the Signature Analysis, Infrared inspection, vibration, ultrasonic, etc. • Provide electrical technical support, review and approval of changes using the Engineering Management of Change (EMOC) process. Assist local personnel in developing proper engineering documentation for performing any changes. • Create or review and approving the application of electrical equipment PM’s, work instructions, and related procedures. Review the quality and completeness of electrical PM execution at plant location. • Support operations in the field for major maintenance, upgrades, new plant checkout and commissioning. Perform full loop checks and functional testing of equipment in test position, prior to plant startup. Provide support during plant restart. • Provide electrical equipment scope, proposal estimates, technical documents and execution support to the Project Execution team for large capital improvements projects and re-life projects. • Supervise and assess the technical competency of electrical contractors and service providers to ensure proper scope is assigned and the expected quality is received. • Responsible for understanding, applying and training NFPA 70E to plant personnel as well as reviewing contractor electrical safety practices. • Perform general electrical training at site locations. Required Skills: • Demonstrated exceptional operational safety leadership. • Proven experience in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of low/medium/high voltage substations, switchgear, transformers, motors, distribution systems and associated protection and support equipment. • Proven experience in electrical short circuit analysis, relay protection settings and coordination, power quality analysis, high voltage motor starting schemes and analysis, hazardous area classification and lightning protection. • Proven effectiveness at trouble shooting electrical issues, identify problem components and interfaces, and execute effective and efficient solutions to restore critical and needed plant control functions. • General expertise in large high voltage motors and related control systems preferred. • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code, NFPA 70; National Electrical Testing Assoc, NETA, Maintenance Testing Specifications; Standard for Electrical Safety, NFPA 70E. • Management by influence – experience delivering results in a highly matrixed organization and the ability to influence others to deliver results. • Possess strong communications skills and attention to detail.
