The role of our Electrical Technician focuses on preventative maintenance and repairs with little or no interruption to service. What You Will Do: • Ensure that electrical and instrumentation maintenance work is performed in compliance with regulations and company O&M procedure requirements. • Follow Enbridge maintenance plan and enter completed PMs into the Maximo database. • Follow Company safety and work policies. • Perform emergency response first responder duties. • Complete all mandatory safety, technical, and OQ training. • Develop and implement equipment lockouts. • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot pipeline system electrical equipment: substation equipment, medium voltage switchgear, VFDs, 480V systems, PLC systems, instrumentation systems, petroleum quality systems, and measurement systems. • Collaborate with the Electrical Technical Supervisor, other Electrical Technicians, and Mechanical Technicians, to plan, schedule, and implement maintenance work efficiently. • Maintain terminal and station records and update drawings as required. • Assist Mechanical Technicians as required. • Assist Electrical Maintenance Planner. • Assist project teams with construction projects as assigned: design reviews, Hazops, pre-bid tours, pre-construction meetings, electrical equipment installation, and equipment commissioning. • Communicate with and maintain a positive working relationship with the Control Center operators, Operations and Maintenance personnel, and other internal and external partners. • Pipeline integrity work such as Launch and receive pigs. • Perform Ground disturbance locates (electrical locates) • Perform Testing on electrical safety equipment. Who You Are: You have the following education & experience: • High School Diploma or equivalent • Excellent trouble shooting ability. • Valid driver's license & clear driving record. • Ability to operate a CMV and establish a CMV file. • Must live (or relocate) within 25 miles of the reporting location. Preferred: • Technical or Vocational education • Electrical Journeyman or participation in an accredited Apprenticeship Program • Industrial experience with HVAC/R • Experience in maintenance of crude oil pipeline system, pumping station(s) or delivery facilities or certified technical designation. • Familiarity with pertinent equipment (pumps, motors, valves, switchgear, flow meters, programmable logic controls, motor control centers, uninterruptible power supplies and instrumentation). Working Conditions: • Primarily field oriented (outdoor) with specific office (indoor) functions for training, meetings and documentation of required tasks, instructed by Department of Transportation and other regulatory agencies for which Enbridge must comply. • 100% Drug Free and alcohol free when on duty as Maintenance On-Call or emergency response. • Overnight travel of 10-25 days per year may be required. • Required to participate in Maintenance On-Call schedule and provide 24-hour emergency response as needed. • Available for emergency call 24 hours a day as needed. • Work often required in high noise level areas and areas where vapors from crude oil and solvents may be present.
