Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role. • Professional Engineer (PE) license required. • Proven track record of successfully managing engineering teams and delivering complex projects. • Strong technical expertise in electrical systems design, analysis, and implementation. • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to balance managerial responsibilities with hands-on project involvement. • Proficiency in engineering software and tools relevant to the field. Work Environment: This position is based in Dearborn, MI, and requires on-site presence to manage office operations and collaborate with the team effectively. The Dearborn Industrial Generation (DIG) is a combined natural gas and blast furnace gas fueled power plant located in Dearborn, Michigan adjacent to the Ford Rouge industrial complex. The facility is capable of generating up to 800 MW of electricity and 1.2 million pounds per hour of steam. The plant is comprised of one simple cycle gas turbine, two high-efficiency natural gas combined cycle units with heat recovery steam generators, three blast furnace gas/natural gas boilers and one steam turbine. DIG provides AK Steel, Inc. and Ford Motor Company with steam to serve their heating and processing needs. DIG sells its capacity and energy into the MISO market. Under general supervision, performs a variety semi-skilled duties and responsibilities involved in the maintenance, repair, service and installation of equipment, machinery and related facilities. Keeps records and prepares reports; and performs a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. Perform the tasks common to the classification under supervision. Controls technician under general supervision installs, operates and maintains all plant instrumentation and process control equipment, including distributed discrete and analog computer systems and their peripherals, controllers and process actuators. They install, maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment, such as motors, switch gear, wiring, cables, lighting fixtures, etc. Duties & Responsibilities: • Perform calibrations and repairs on plant instruments, emission monitoring equipment and controllers • Maintain and program plant Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). Maintain and repair all instrument, electronic, and electrical equipment • Maintain a safe work environment through job planning, housekeeping, adherence to plant safety rules, procedures and identification and correction of hazards • Assist operations in times of plant upsets or trips. Read and interpret plans, diagrams and specifications • Perform preventative and routine maintenance to electric motors and switchgear, including live, high voltage work.
